Ancestors of Robert Clayton Brough

Notes

Juul Eschildsen

Comment by Inger P. Ludlow:  "Husband's name also spelled Juel Eskelsen (& Eskildsen, etc.)  Both [his] wives had the name Anne Pedersdatter."

Eschild Jensen

Comment by Inger P. Ludlow:  "Parish Register for Viby does not start until 1719 making it impossible to further identify this family.  There may have been other children born to this couple of whom there is no record.  The children on this sheet were obtained through the probate records and land records."

Mads Jensen

Comment by Inger P. Ludlow:  Parish Register for Holme does not start until 1738.  According to the probate after the wife, Karen Pedersdatter, [died] the child on this sheet was the only child living at that time, of the marriage of Mads Jensen and Karen Pedersdatter."

Mads Christophersen

Comment by Inger P. Ludlow:  "Parish register for Holme does not start until 1738 and it therefore is not possible to obtain christening dates for the three first children on this sheet.  In the land records it was recorded that Mads Christophersen of Skaade took over the lease on the farm previously leased by his father, Christopher Madsen, 12 Apr 1728 (reg. no. 4-6-3-1).  All of these children were mentioned in the probate after their father, Mads Christophersen [died] in 1755."

Jens Rasmussen

Comment by Inger P. Ludlow:  "Parish register for Holme does not start until 1738 and there are no probate records available for either the husband or the wife on this sheet making it impossible to further identify this family.  In the land records it was recorded that 1722-1723 (no exact date available) Mads Jensen took over the lease on his father's, Jens Rasmussen, farm in Holme (reg. no. 5-2-1-2)."

Rasmus Mortensen

Comment by Inger P. Ludlow: "All of these children were mentioned in the probate after their mother, Karen Pedersdatter, [died] in 1753.  Children # 1, 3, 4 were also mentioned in the probate after their brother, #2 Morten, [died] in 1781.  The parish register for Holme does not start until 1738 and it is therefore not possible to further identify this family.  This couple may have had other children of whom there are no records."
