"James Osmond" is listed in the 1891 book "Genealogical and Heraldic History of the Colonial Gentry" by Sir Bernard Burke (Volume 1, page 139), which under the section entitled "Osmand of Stawell" states the following: "James Osmond, of Somersmill, in the parish of Willand, co. Devon, yeoman (great grandson of Thomas Osmond, of Stagmill, in the parish of Uplowman), recorded his pedigree at the Heralds' Visitation of Devon, 1620.  He d. October, 1644, having m. Johane, daughter of William Chamberlaine or Chamberlyn, of Halberton, and left issue six sons and three daughters."

"Jane Chamb'laine" is listed in the book "The Visitation of the County of Devon in the year 1620", by the Harleian Society, 1872, pages 202-203 (FHL Book # 942.B4h, V.6), which displays an "Osmond" pedigree that states the following: "James [Osmond] 3 [third son of 'Thomas Osmond' and 'Elz Turner'] = [married] Jane d. of Willm Chamb'laine of Halberton".

"Johane Chamberlaine" is listed in the 1891 book "Genealogical and Heraldic History of the Colonial Gentry" by Sir Bernard Burke (Volume 1, page 139), which under the section entitled "Osmand of Stawell" states the following: "James Osmond, of Somersmill, in the parish of Willand, co. Devon, yeoman (great grandson of Thomas Osmond, of Stagmill, in the parish of Uplowman), recorded his pedigree at the Heralds' Visitation of Devon, 1620.  He d. October, 1644, having m. Johane, daughter of William Chamberlaine or Chamberlyn, of Halberton, and left issue six sons and three daughters."
