In September 2009, the Osmond Family Organization obtained a copy of the death certificate of Charles Henry Osmond from New Zealand, which stated that he died of "Carcinoma of the Stomach" on 20 October 1937 at 12 St. Stephens Avenue, Parnell, Auckland, that he was buried or cremated on 21 October 1937 in Waikaraka, that he was about 80 years old when he died (born about 1857), that he was born in England and had lived in New Zealand for about 60 years (immigrated about 1877), that he had married Phoebe Jessie Jervis and Ethel Maslin (age 59), and that he had one daughter who was 45 years old at the time of his death, and one son who was 50 years old at the time of his death.

The certificate also stated that this "Marriage [was] dissolved by [court] order [that was] dated 22 June 1926 at [the] Supreme Court [at] Auckland".
