In the 1881, "Thomas Nichols" is listed as being 63 years old (born about 1818), born in Wallsend, Northumberland, married and working as a "Colliery Manager", and residing with his second wife, Emma (age 58), and his unmarried daughter (Isabella--age 28), in Stoke-upon-Trent, Staffordshire, England.

The death of "Thomas Nicholls" is listed in the online FreeBMD and Staffordshire BMD, which combined states that his death was registered in July-September 1886 in Fenton subdistrict, Stoke-upon-Trent district, Staffordshire, and that he died when he was "68" years old (born about 1818).
