In the 1900 Census, James C. Houston is listed as being about 17 years old (born about 1883) and born in Utah in November 1882.

In the 1910 Census, James C. Houston is listed as being about 24 years old (born about 1886), born in Utah, married to "Linda", working as a "Laborer [on a] Ranch", and residing in Spencer, Fremont, Idaho.

In the 1920 Census, James C. J. Houston is listed as being about 35 years old (born about 1885), born in Utah, married to "Malinda", working as a "Janiter [in a] Railroad Club House", and residing in Three Forks, Gallatin, Montana.

In the 1930 Census, James C. Houston is listed as being about 45 years old (born about 1885), born in Utah, married to "Malonda", working as a "Watchman [on an] Engine", and residing in Three Forks, Gallatin, Montana.

The death of James C. Houston is listed in the online Death Index of Montana via Ancestry.com.

In the 1900 Census, Malinda Manney is listed as being born in May 1890 in Idaho, and living with her mother, Lottie Manney (a widow) and siblings, in St. Anthony, Fremont, Idaho.

In the 1910 Census, "Linda" (Houston) is listed as being about 19 years old (born about 1891), born in Idaho, married to James C. Houston, and residing in Spencer, Fremont, Idaho.

In the 1920 Census, "Malinda" (Houston) is listed as being about 28 years old (born about 1892, but mistakenly listed as being only "2" years old by the census extractor via Ancestry.com), born in Idaho, married to James C. J. Houston, and residing in Three Forks, Gallatin, Montana.

In the 1930 Census, "Malonda" (Houston) is listed as being about 38 years old (born about 1892), born in Idaho, married to James C. Houston, and residing in Three Forks, Gallatin, Montana.

Research Note:  The LDS Sealing Record of James C. Houston and Mary Ellen Nichols, dated 16 April 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple (FHL Film # 456768), listed the children (and one of their spouses--Malinda Manney) of James Houston and Mary Nichols, and the information for this Record was provided by Ruby L. B. Madsen "from records of Melinda Houston [then of] Summit Valley Sanitarium, Butte, Montana".
