In October 2009, the Osmond Family Organization obtained a copy of the birth certificate of Mary Edith Osmond from England, which stated that she was born on 6 January 1877 at Spestos Grange, Bow, Devon, and that her parents were John Gregory Osmond (a Gentleman) and Amy Benmore Osmond "formerly Pentecost".
