(http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/deseretnews/obituary.aspx?n=eliza-patterson&pid=161285855&fhid=10581):
Eliza Patterson "Our Dear Mama"     Eliza Ardell Booth Patterson was called to her heavenly home on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012. Mama was born Jan. 21, 1922 to John T. Booth and Salena Mae Page Booth, the youngest of their seven children. She met her future husband, Donald Alvus Patterson, at the Ogden, Utah school for the deaf, and were later married in the Salt Lake Temple on Nov. 7, 1947. Together they enjoyed a marriage that lasted forty-two years, until Dad's passing in 1989.     Mom loved and enjoyed her many friends in both the deaf and hearing communities. She enjoyed reading, embroidery work, playing cards, and going for long rides. Mama was a wonderful cook - her pork roast, lemon meringue pie, and pull taffy were among her most requested treats. Mom's greatest pride and joy (and probably her greatest challenge) was raising her five sons in the very same West Jordan home that her parents built, and she was born in.     Mama is survived by her sons: Donald (Dianne), Russell (Brenda), Mike (Che), Duane (Tammy), Kevin (Janet); also 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, numerous nephews and nieces, and a multitude of friends that she dearly loved. Mama was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Alvus Patterson; her brother, five sisters, and two grandchildren. The family expresses our deep gratitude to Kara Lee Thompson for all the time she spent with Mama.     Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 30, at 11 a.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, where there will be viewings Thursday 6-8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to services. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.
