The birth date and place of Marintha Altheria Davis was obtained from the LDS Endowment record of Marintha Altheria Davis as listed in FHL Film # 178052, p.319 (available in the Special Collections Room, Family History Library, Salt Lake City, Utah), which stated that at the time of Marintha's live endowment on 6 January 1892 in the Logan Temple in Logan, Cache Co., Utah, the recorder stated that Marintha was born on 3 May 1867 in "Gilbertone, Schulkill" Pennsylvania, and that she was baptized into the LDS Church in 9 May 1875, and that her parents were Thomas John Davis and Elizabeth Williams.

The birth date and place of Marintha Altheria Davis was obtained from genealogical records of Olive Osmond.

Geographical Note:  The travel distance from Coaldale, Schuylkill Co., Pennsylvania, westward to Gilberton, Schuylkill Co., Pennsylvania is about 19 miles.

The birth date and place of Thomas Williams Davis was obtained from genealogical records of Olive Osmond.  Also, different family sources have stated that Thomas Davis was known as: "Thomas S. Davis", "Thomas Samaria Davis" or Thomas Williams Davis".

In the 1870 Census (recorded on 15 August 1870) for Malad City (Post Office) in Idaho, Thomas Davis is listed as being about "11 months" old (born about September 1869), born in Idaho, and residing with his parents, Thomas and Elizabeth Davis, in Malad Valley, Idaho.

In the 1880 Census (recorded on the 25-26 June 1880) for Samaria, Oneida Co., Idaho, Thomas Davis is listed as being about 10 years old (born about 1870), born in Idaho, and residing with his parents, Thomas and Elizabeth Davis, in Samaria, Idaho.

In the 1910 Census (recorded on 28 April 1910) for Pleasant View Precinct, Oneida Co., Idaho, Thomas S. Davis is listed as being about 41 years old (born about 1869), born in Idaho, living on his "own income", and residing with his wife, Ann Davis and two of their children in Oneida Co., Idaho.

In the 1920 Census (recorded on 9-10 January 1920) for Pleasant View Precinct, Oneida Co., Idaho, Thomas J. Davis is listed as being about 50 years old (born about 1870), born in Idaho, a Farmer, and residing with his wife, Ann, and four of their children in Oneida Co., Idaho.

In the LDS Membership Ward Record for Pleasantview, Idaho (FHL Film # 7495- U.S. & Canada Section), "Thomas Davis" is listed within the "Listing of Members" as a member of the LDS Church; his father was listed as "Thomas Davis" and mother as "Elizabeth Griffs"; that he was born on 10 September 1869 in Samaria, Oneida, Idaho; baptized into the LDS Church on 6 December 1877 by Wm. E. Hawkins; and confirmed a member of the LDS Church on 6 December 1877 by George Dunford.

In the LDS Membership Ward Record for Pleasantview, Idaho (FHL Film # 7495- U.S. & Canada Section), "Thomas S. Davis" is listed within the "Individual Membership Records" as an "Elder" within the LDS Church at the time of his death; his father was listed as "Thomas Davis" and his mother as "Elizabeth Griffs"; he was born on 10 September 1869 in Samaria, Oneida; he was baptized into the LDS Church on 6 December 1877 by Willis E. Hawkins; confirmed a member of the LDS Church on 6 December 1877 by George Dunford; ordained an Elder in the LDS Church on 3 June 1918 by Stephen White; and died of "Heart failure" on 23 September 1938.

In the 1851 Census, Jon Morgan Thomas is listed as being 19 years old (born about 1832), born in Carmarthen, single and working as a "Printer" (probably for his father, John Thomas--who was a Master Printer), and residing with his parents, John and Mary Thomas, and his siblings, at: Upper Water Street, Llanelly, Carmarthenshire, Wales.

In the 1861 Census, John Thomas is listed as being 28 years old (born about 1833), born in Kilcwm (Cilycum), Carmarthenshire, married and working as an "Iron Stone Miner", and residing with his wife, Dorathe, and their two young children, in Ystradgynlais, Breconshire., Wales.

In the 1871 Census, John M. Thomas is listed as being 38 years old (born about 1833), born in Carmarthenshire, married and working as a "Miner", and residing with his wife, Dorathy, and their children, in Palleg, Ystradgynlais, Brecconshire, Wales.

Thomas is listed as being 68 years old (born about 1833), born in Cilycwm, Carmarthenshire, married and working as a "Colliery Labourer below ground", and residing with his wife, Dorothy, and two of their children, at Station Terrace in Maerdy, Ystradyfodwg, Glamorgan, Wales.

In the 1911 Census, John Morgan Thomas is listed as being 78 years old (born about 1833), born in Citycwm, Carmarthenshire, a Widower and "Retired Coal Miner", residing as a "Father in law" with his married daughter, Dorothy, and son-in-law, John Hill, and their infant son, John Glyndur Hill, at: 6 Mardy Road (Maerdy Road), Marty (Maerdy, Ystradyfodwg), Glamorgan, Wales.


Dorathy Williams

The death of "Dorothy Thomas" is listed in the online FreeBMD, which states that her death was registered in October-December 1907 in Pontypridd district, Glamorgan, Wales, and that she was 73 years old when she died (born about 1834).

In the 1841 Census, "Dorit" Williams is listed as being 7 years old (born about 1834), born in Breconshire, and residing with her parents in Ystradgynlais.
