The church of All Saints was entirely rebuilt in 1884, at a cost of £2,782: the ancient chapel here stood on the margin of the lake, but in 1558 a new chapel was built at the foot of Priest Cragg, and it was on this account that the place obtained the name of 'New Kirk'; the present edifice consists of chancel, nave, baptistery, north porch, and a western tower containing 2 bells: there are 300 sittings.
