The 1742 marriage of "George Osmond" and "Mary Allen" is listed in the Bishop's Transcripts of Bicester, Oxfordshire, England (FHL Films # 95214 and 7904046), which states that they were married on 26 June 1742 in Bicester, Oxfordshire, as "George Osmond & Mary Allen of Burcester [Bicester]". (Note: This marriage has been incorrectly indexed in FamilySearch as having taken place in Berrick-Salome, Oxfordshire--which is about 23 travel miles south of Bicester.) Also, the 1742 marriage of George Osmond and Mary Allen is listed in the "Oxfordshire Marriage Index: 1538-1837" by the Oxfordshire Family History Society, p.29, which states that this couple was married in Bicester on 26 Jun 1742. And a copy of the marriage license of George Osmond and Mary Allen was published in the 1980's book: "George Osmond and Family Pioneers", on page 529.

The Will of John Osmund (FHL Film # 95082) states that he was a "Gentleman", and that he had a "sister"--who named Mary Brown--who was probably his half sister, Mary Butler, who was christened in 1702 and who later married a Mr. Brown.

"Friday, 21 January 1757 [taken from the Jackson's Oxford Journal]: We hear from Burford in this County, that on Friday the 21st Instant, John Osman, Isaac Coburn, Stephen Palmer, William Beechy, William Wickens, Thomas Roaf, Simon Jeffs, and Thomas May, rung the Whole Peal of Grandshire Triples [or the ringing of church bells], five thousand and forty Changes in three hours and eighteen minutes, a thing never before performed in that Town."
"Tuesday, 10 March 1767 [taken from the Jackson's Oxford Journal]: Last Tuesday morning died at Bicester in this County, aged 74, Mr. John Osmond, formerly an eminent Butcher of that Place, in which Business he had acquired an ample fortune and had retired from Trade many Years. He was greatly esteemed for the Honesty of his Dealings: and what was very much to his Honour, was universally acknowledged to be remarkably clean in his business."
