In the 1891 Census, "Walter N[ichols] Scott" is listed as being 21 years old (born about 1870), born in Siddington, Cheshire, single and working as a "Fitter & Turner", and residing with his mother, Harriet (age 42) and his stepfather George Scott (age 53), and four siblings, at: 135 Peter Street, St. Helens (Town), Eccleston (Civil Parish), Lancashire, England.

The 1894 marriage certificate of "Walter Nichols" and "Florence Robinson" was obtained from the GRO in England in January 2022 by the Nichols and Booth Family Organization (https://sites.google.com/view/nichols-and-booth-family-org/home). This marriage certificate stated hat Walter Nichols and Florence Robinson were married by Banns on 20 August 1894 at the parish church of St. Thomas in Eccleston, St. Helens, Lancashire, England; that Walter Nichols was "24" years old (born about 1870) and a "Bachelor" and "Fitter" of "57 Grant Street" and that his father was "Thomas Nichols (deceased)" a "Fitter"; and that Florence Robinson was "20" years old (born about 1874) and a "Spinster" of "47 Grant Street" and that her father was "Walter Robinson" a "Woollen Spinner".  The marriage was witnessed by John Wm [William] Milnes and Janet Milnes.  Also, the 1894 marriage of "Walter Nichols" and "Florence Robinson" is listed in the online FreeBMD, which states that their marriage was registered in July-September 1894 in Prescot district, Lancashire, England.

In the 1901 Census, "Walter Nichols" is listed as being 31 years old (born about 1870), born in Liddington (or Siddington), Cheshire, married and working as an "Engine Fitter", and residing with his wife, Florence (age 26), and their daughter, May Nichols (age 5), at: 80 Kirkland Street, St. Helens, Lancashire, England.

In the 1911 Census, "Walter Nichols" is listed as being 41 years old (born about 1870), born in Siddington, Cheshire, married and working as an "Engine Fitter" in the "Glass Manufacturer" industry, and residing with his wife, Florence (age 37), and their daughter, May Nichols (age 15), at: 33 Grant Street, St. Helens, Lancashire, England.

The death of "Walter Nichols" is listed in the "England & Wales National Probate Calendar (via Ancestry.com), which states that he died on 7 July 1928 in Lancashire, England, and that his Probate took place on 14 September 1928 in Liverpool, England.  The entry reads (edited): "Walter Nichols, of 172 Windleshaw Road, St. Helens, Lancashire, died 7 July 1928. Administration: Liverpool, 14 September [1928] to Florence Nichols, widow, and May Tickle (wife of William Ireland Tickle)."  Effects: £1474 1s. 6d.  Also, the death of death of "Walter Nicholls" is listed in the FreeBMD, which states that his death was registered in July-September 1928 in Prescot district, Lancashire, England, and that he died when he was "58" years old (born about 1870).


Florence Robinson

The birth and christening of "Florence Robinson" is listed in FamilySearch, which states that she was born on 14 April 1874 and christened on 16 April 1874 in Elland, Yorkshire, England, and that her parents were "Walter Robinson" and "Elizabeth".  Also, the birth of "Florence Robinson" is listed in the online GRO Index, which states that her birth was registered in April-June 1874 in Halifax district (which includes the civil parish of Elland), West Riding of Yorkshire, England.
