John Barlow

The christening of "John Barlow" is listed in FamilySearch (via FHL Film # 4019074), which states that he was christened on 25 October 1753 at St. Mary's church in Stockport, Cheshire, and that his parents were "Edward Barlow" and "Esther".


Edward Barlow

The christening of "Edwd. [Edward] Barlow" is listed in FamilySearch, which states that he was christened on 16 March 1728 in Manchester, Lancashire, England, and that his father was "Jno. [John or Jonathan] Barlow".

The marriage of "Edward Barlow" and "Esther Horton" is listed in FamilySearch, which states that their marriage took place on 14 November 1749 in Manchester, Lancashire, England.  (Note: Boyd's Marriage Index lists the wife of this marriage was being "Est Horston.")

Edward Barlow apparently died after the burial of his wife, Esther, as follows: The burial of "Esther Barlow" is listed and shown in FamilySearch (FHL Film # 2145837), which states that she was buried on 24 October 1769 at St. Mary's church in Stockport, Cheshire, England, and that "Esther" was the "wife of Edward Barlow of Stockport."

Research Note: It has been suggested that the father of "Edward Barlow" may have been "John Barlow" of Manchester, Lancashire, England, because Edward was married in Manchester and named his first son John.


Esther Horton

The marriage of "Edward Barlow" and "Esther Horton" is listed in FamilySearch, which states that their marriage took place on 14 November 1749 in Manchester, Lancashire, England.  (Note: Boyd's Marriage Index lists the wife of this marriage was being "Est Horston.")

The burial of "Esther Barlow" is listed and shown in FamilySearch (FHL Film # 2145837), which states that she was buried on 24 October 1769 at St. Mary's church in Stockport, Cheshire, England, and that "Esther" was the "wife of Edward Barlow of Stockport."

Edmundus Key

The birth and christening of "Edmund Key" is listed in FamilySearch (via FHL Book #: 942.72, K29pr v.24), which states that he born on 3 June 1693 and christened on 11 June 1693 at St. Mary, Bury, Lancashire, and that his father was "Thomas Key".

Research Note:  There are two possible burials for "Edmund Kay", as follows: 1) the burial of a "Edmund Kay" is listed in FamilySearch (via FHL Film # 559161), which states that he was buried on 9 April 1758 at St. Mary the Virgin, Bury, Manchester, Lancashire; and 2) the burial of a "Edm'd Kay" is listed in FamilySearch (via FHL Film # 559161), which states that he was buried on 29 April 1768 at St. Mary the Virgin, Bury, Manchester, Lancashire.


Anna Leigh

The christening of "Anna Leigh" is listed in FamilySearch (via FHL Film # 844816), which states that she was christened on 14 March 1703 in Deane By Bolton, Lancashire, and that her father was "Richardi Leigh".

The birth and christening of "Allice Key" is listed in FamilySearch (via FHL Book #: 942.72, K29pr v.24), which states that she born on 11 September 1697 and christened on 15 September 1697 at St. Mary, Bury, Lancashire, and that her father was "Thomas Key".

Research Note:  FamilySearch lists a "Thomas Key" who married "Elizabeth Orrell" at St. Mary, Bury, Lancashire, on 24 April 1697.  Could this child belong to this marriage?


James Key

The birth and christening of "James Key" is listed in FamilySearch (via FHL Book #: 942.72, K29pr v.24), which states that he born on 18 November 1697 and christened on 21 November 1697 at St. Mary, Bury, Lancashire, and that his father was "Thomas Key".

Research Note:  FamilySearch lists a "Thomas Key" who married "Elizabeth Orrell" at St. Mary, Bury, Lancashire, on 24 April 1697.  Could this child belong to this marriage?


Henrici Whittle

"Henrici Whittle" is listed as the father of five children (Adamus, Alicia, Anna, Maria, and Elizabetha) who were christened at St. Mary, Deane, Lancashire, between 1682 and 1702. (Source: FHL Film # 2113065.)

"Henrici Whittle" is described as being of "Northhampton" (in Northhamptonshire, England) in the christening record of his daugther, Alicia Whittle, as follows: The christening of "Alicia Whittle" is listed in St. Mary, Deane (or Deane By Bolton), Lancashire (FHL Film # 2113065), which states that she was christened on 1 January 1692/1693 as the daughter of "Henrici Whittle", and that "Henrici Whittle" was of "Northhampton".  Also, the christening of "Alice Whittle" is listed in FamilySearch (via FHL Films # 844816 and 1545477, Item #3), which states that she was christened on 1 January 1692/1693 in Deane By Bolton, Lancashire, and that her father was "Henrici Whittle".

"Henrici Whittle" is described as being of "Westhoughton" (in Lancashire, England) in the christening records of four of his (five) children: Adamus, Anna, Maria and Elizabetha.

Research Note:  In the past some people have suggested that the "Henry Whittle" who was christened on 3 April 1655 as the son of "Tho. Whittle" (FHL Book # 942.7, B4Lc, V.21, page 28) was the father of five children.  However, this is not possible, as this Henry was buried in Leyland on 22 March 1656 (page 174).


Adamus Whittle

The christening of "Adamus Whittle" is listed in St. Mary, Deane (or Deane By Bolton), Lancashire (FHL Film # 2113065), which states that he was christened on 19 December 1682 as the son of "Henrici Whittle", and that Henrici Whittle was of "Westhoughton".


Anna Whittle

The christening of "Anna Whittle" is listed in St. Mary, Deane (or Deane By Bolton), Lancashire (FHL Film # 2113065), which states that she was christened on 18 August 1695 as the daughter of "Henrici Whittle", and that Henrici Whittle was of "Westhoughton".


Maria Whittle

The christening of "Maria Whittle" is listed in St. Mary, Deane (or Deane By Bolton), Lancashire (FHL Film # 2113065), which states that she was christened on 17 April 1698 as the daughter of "Henrici Whittle", and that Henrici Whittle was of "Westhoughton".


Elizabetha Whittle

Relationship Note: The parents of "Robert Wilcock" were possibly Robert Wilcocke and Margaret Melling. This relationship is a guesstimate and is based on extensive radius searches of available records, recognized patronymics and family traditions, and duration and proximity reviews conducted by the Nichols & Booth Family Organization.
