In the 1871 Census, "Edward Brough" is listed as being 18 years old (born about 1853), born in Trentham, Staffordshire, and residing as a "Grandson" in the home of Richard (age 64) and Jane (age 60) Brough in Trentham, Staffordshire.

The 1877 marriage of "Edward Brough" and "Elizabeth Davenport" is listed in the parish register of St. John, Longton, Staffordshire, England (FHL Film # 1471087, Item # 6), which states that they were married by Banns on 12 March 1877 in St. John, Longton; that Edward Brough was "24" years old (born about 1853) and a "Bachelor" and "Potter" of "Lane End" and that his father was "Richard Brough" a "Miner"; and that Elizabeth Davenport was "20" years old (born about 1857) and a "Spinster" and "Potter" of "Lane End" and that her father was "Isaac Davenport" a "Potter".  The marriage was witnessed by William Pegg and Ann Pegg.  Also, the marriage of "Edward Brough" and "Elizabeth Davenport" is listed in the online Staffordshire BMD, which states that their marriage was registered in 1877 and took place in St. John, Longton, Staffordshire.  In addition, the marriage of "Edward Brough" and "Elizabeth Devenport" is listed in the online FreeBMD, which states that their marriage was registered in January-March 1877 in Stoke-upon-Trent district, Staffordshire.

In the 1881 Census, "Edward Brough" is listed as being 29 years old (born about 1852), born in Trentham, Staffordshire, married and working as a "Potters Platemaker", and residing with his wife, Eliza (age 24), and their two children (Florence--age 2, and William--9 months old), at: Howard Street, Trentham, Staffordshire.

In the 1891 Census, "Edward Brough" is listed as being 38 years old (born about 1853), born in Longton, Staffordshire, married and working as a "Potters Looker to Ware", and residing with his wife, Eliza (age 34), and their three children (Florence--age 13, William H.--age 11, and Pricilla--age 8), and his widowed grandmother, Jane Brough (age 80), at: 2 Brook Yard, Dresden, Staffordshire.

In the 1901 Census, "Edward Brough" is listed as being 49 years old (born about 1852), born in Longton, Staffordshire, married and working as a "Potters Looker to Earth Ware", and residing with his wife, Eliza (age 45), and their daughter (Pricilla--age 17), at: 43 Peel Street, Longton, Staffordshire.

In the 1911 Census, "Edward Brough" is listed as being 59 years old (born about 1852), born in Longton, Staffordshire, married and working as a "Potter Looker to ware", and residing with his wife, Eliza (age 54), and his married daughter, Florence Allcock (age 32) and her husband (George Allcock--age 34) and their two children (Florence Allcock--age 10, and Emily Allcock--age 9), at: 45 Peel Street, Dresden, Staffordshire.
