LDS Proxy Baptism Record of "Elijah Clark": On 12 June 1872, Samuel Clark (1798-1885) was baptized by "proxy" in the LDS Endowment House for his deceased "brother", "Elijah Clark"--who is listed as being born in "New Jersey".  Samuel Clark was baptized by "Samuel H. B. Smith" [Samuel Harrison Bailey Smith, 1838-1914], and confirmed by "Pres. D. H. Wells" [Daniel Hanmer Wells, 1814-1891].  This information was recorded in the "Salt Lake Temple and Endowment House Record: Baptisms - Records - Dead, 25 May 1871 - 11 Oct 1872 (FHL Special Collections Film # 1149519).

LDS Temple Index Bureau Record for "Elijah Clark" (FHL Special Collection Film # 1262791) state the following: That "Elijah Clark" was born "abt. 1782" in "N.J." (New Jersey); that his parents were "Joseph Clark" and "Elizabeth Sooy"; that he married "Henrietta Clark"; that "Samuel Clark" was his "Bro[ther]"; and that Elijah was baptized by proxy on 12 June 1872, and that he was endowed by proxy on 8 July 1936 in the Cardston Alberta Canada Temple.

LDS Sealing-to-Parents of "Elijah Clark"--who was listed as being "b.[born] about 1782" in "N.J." to his parents Joseph Clark and Elizabeth Sooy--took place by proxy on 21 July 1938 in the LDS Temple in Cardston Alberta Canada (FHL Special Collections Film # 170745).

Two LDS Temple Index Bureau Records for "Isaiah Clark" (FHL Special Collection Film # 1262792) state the following: 1) That "Isaiah Clark" was born in "New Jersey"; that he was baptized by proxy on 12 June 1872; that he was endowed by proxy on 23 Dec 1908 in the Salt Lake Temple; and that he was the "Bro[ther] of "Samuel Clark" who was "d." (dead).  2) That "Isaiah Clark" was born "abt. 1790" in "N.J." (New Jersey); that his parents were "Joseph Clark" and "Elizabeth Sooy"; that "Samuel Clark" was his "Bro[ther]"; and that Isaiah was baptized by proxy on 12 June 1872, and that he was endowed by proxy on 16 September 1936 in the Cardston Alberta Canada Temple.
