"Hughe Gardner" is listed in the christening record of his son, "Abraham Gardner", as follows: The christening of "Abraham Gardner" is listed in the parish register transcript of St. Julian, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England (FHL Film # 510676, Item #1, page 111), which states that he was christened on 7 March 1590/1591 in St. Julian, Shrewsbury, and that his father was "Hughe Gardner, [a] Sharman [or Sherman--who was a skilled worker who sheared the nap from cloth].

"John Phillips" is listed in the Will and Probate of "Johannis Gardiner" that appears in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury Wills (via Ancestry.com) and states the following: Date of Will: 9 March 1624; Date of Probate: 17 March 1626; Johannis Gariner was "a Taylor of Shrewsbury" and had "lands" in Shropshire; Individuals identified in his Will: "my wife", "my daughter Ann Philips", "my father in law George Phillips [who was deceased]", "my son John Gardner", "John Phillips my son in law"; Request: "my body to be buried in the parish church of St. Chaddes [Chad] in Shrewsbury aforesaid in or near the place where my father in law George Phillips was buried".


Ann Garnar

The marriage of "John Phillipes" and "Ann Garnar" is listed in the parish register of St. Chad, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England (FHL Book # 942.45, B4sl, V.15, page 20), which states that they were married on 7 October 1621 in St. Chad, Shrewsbury.

The burial of "Ann [the] w[ife of] John Phillipes, [a] Cardmaker" is listed in the parish register of St. Chad, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England (FHL Book # 942.45, B4sl, V.15, page 99), which states that she was buried on 12 October 1634 in St. Chad, Shrewsbury.

Thomas Gardner

"Thomas Gardner kinsman overseer" was possibly an uncle to "John Gardner"--whose Will appears in the "Registered wills and original wills, administrations and inventories, 1494-1860, and, act books, 1532-1638 for Diocese of Lichfield Episcopal Consistory Court" (FHL Film # 95389).  The Will was written on 28 February 1538/1539 and was probated on 23 March 1538/1539.  The Will states that "John Gardner" was "of St. Chad, Shrewsbury", and mentions the following individuals: "Dawne my wife overseer", "John my son", "Thomas my son", "George my son", "my father John Gardner", and "Thomas Gardner kinsman overseer".


Humphrey Gardner

The burial of "Humfry Gardnar, of Frankwell" is listed in the parish register of St. Chad, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England (FHL Book # 942.45, B4sl, V.15, page 30), which states that he was buried on 10 September 1623 in St. Chad, Shrewsbury.

The Will of "Humphrey Gardner" appears in the "Registered wills and original wills, administrations and inventories, 1494-1860, and, act books, 1532-1638 for Diocese of Lichfield Episcopal Consistory Court" (FHL Film # 95400).  The Will is dated 25 May 1624 and states that "Humphrey Gardner" wished "to be buried" at "St. Chadd [in] Shrewsbury", that his wife was "Elizabeth", and that he had a son named "Richard".

"Richard Gardner" is listed in the Will of "Humphrey Gardner" that appears in the "Registered wills and original wills, administrations and inventories, 1494-1860, and, act books, 1532-1638 for Diocese of Lichfield Episcopal Consistory Court" (FHL Film # 95400).  The Will is dated 25 May 1624 and states that "Humphrey Gardner" wished "to be buried" at "St. Chadd [in] Shrewsbury", that his wife was "Elizabeth", and that he had a son named "Richard".


Humfrey Gardiner

"Humfrey Gardiner" is listed in the Will of "John Gardiner" that appears in the "Registered wills and original wills, administrations and inventories, 1494-1860, and, act books, 1532-1638 for Diocese of Lichfield Episcopal Consistory Court" (FHL Film # 95391).  The Will was written in November 1557 and probated on 23 May 1558.  The Will states that John Gardiner was of Shrewsbury and mentions the following individuals: "Margaret my wife", "Richard my son", "Humfrey my son", "Robert my son", and "Elizabeth my daughter".
