Thomas James Mackley

Thomas James Mackley Thomas James Mackley of Boise died Saturday April 25, 2009 at home of a long illness. He was 80 years old.

He was born Sept. 13, 1928 to Albert Charles Mackley and Pearl Alice Dalby Mackley at Driggs Idaho.

He grew up in Driggs, Ririe, Challis, and Rupert Idaho. He graduated from Rupert High School. He was a charter member of the Idaho National Guard in Rupert in 1947. He joined the Navy April 1, 1949, and served for four years as a yeoman. Following his discharge, he rejoined the National Guard and served until he retired May 1971. Tom worked as a carpenter, mason, cement finisher, etc. he loved his work. He was a good enough mechanic to keep our cars running. His special love was horses, and he raised many over the years. He liked to chariot race. He loved to fish and hunt. We spent many good times as a family in the hills. He especially liked to go Elk hunting with the "boys" each fall. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He had a deep testimony and did his best to fulfill each assignment to the best of his ability. He was an especially faithful Home Teacher. He worked in the temple as long as his health allowed.

He married Ella Mary Ann McKenzie May 27, 1953 in the Idaho Falls Temple. They were blessed with three children.

He is survived by his Wife, two daughters, and one son- namely Sally Glasgow (Gail), Eileen Simmons (Chris), John Mackley (Anna May) and twelve grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren three brothers Delbert, Stanley, George one sister Kathleen Hunter, and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Frank, Blaine, and Charles, one grandson, and one great-grandson, and two sons-in-law.

The family will receive friends at the viewing Thursday, April 30, 2009, from 6 -8 p.m. at Dakan Funeral Chapel, 504 S. Kimball, Caldwell, Idaho. Funeral services will be held on Friday May 1, 2009 at the Mill Creek Ward Chapel, 3700 S Maple Grove Road, Boise, at 11 a.m., with viewing at the Mill Creek Ward Chapel Relief Society Room from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. A committal service with Military Honors will be held on Monday, May 4, 2009 at the Idaho State Veteran's Cemetery, 10101 North Horseshoe Bend Road, Boise.

Death Of Mrs. Funk

Mrs. W. D. Funk, a pioneer of this vicinity died in Sterling yesterday of pneumonia.

Mrs. Funk was born in Sweden 72 years ago, came to Utah when 21 and lived in Manti till 28 years ago when she moved with her family to Sterling.

Her husband, daughter, Mrs. Irvin Snow of Sterling, four sons, Foster and W. D. Jr. of Manti and E. D. and E. S. Funk of Nevada survive her.

It is expected the funeral will be held in Sterling Sunday at 12 o'clock.

Beatrice S. Jolley

Mrs. Jolley was born May 9, 1898, in Ogden, Utah, a daughter of James A. and Marie Kerstine Jensen Stephens.

On May 20, 1919, she was married to Clarence Rackham in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were divorced. She was later married to LeGrande S. Jolley. He died in 1957.

A lifelong resident of Ogden, she attended Ogden City schools and Weber Academy. She was a member of the 28th LDS Ward.

Survivors are the following sons and daughters: Marvin E. Rackham, LaMar C. Rackham, Arnold S. Rackham, Charles R. Rackham, Mrs Peter (Toby) Twitchell, all of Ogden; Mrs. Vernon (Barbara) George, Las Vegas, Nevada; 21 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Martha S. Steimle, Redlands, California; Mrs. Myrtle S. Heywood, Bell, California.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist and Sons Colonial Chapel with Bishop R. Neal Ball of the 26th Ward officiating.

Friends may call at the mortuary Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday prior to services. Burial in Ogden City Cemetery.

Ted L. Jolley, 85, of Venice, passed away June 10, 2013 in Salt Lake City. He was born November 21, 1927 in Emery to Evan and Thelma Larsen Jolley. He married Lillian Cowley on April 21,1953 in the Manti Temple.

Ted served in the US Army during the Korean War. He spent two years in Okinawa, in the Transportation Division. He was an excellent marksman and earned several metals while in the service.

Ted enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and taking his family camping. He enjoyed vacationing and went on the Church History tour, also traveling to Canada, Oregon, California and Mt. Rushmore in South Dakota.

An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he served in positions in the Young Men, Sunday School and was a High Priest.

Ted is survived by his wife, Lillian; children: Jannette (Alan) Yorgason, Salt Lake City; Jerald (Yamira) Jolley, Herriman; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Linda (Terron) Crane, Salina.

Preceded in death by parents; siblings: Joann Stringer, Juanita Shield and Rue Jolley.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Venice Ward Chapel. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield and Monday at the ward chapel in Venice from 9:30 - 10:30a.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery with military rites by the V.F.W. Post #5050 Utah Honor Guard. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.

Marianne M. Dorton

Marianne Morse Dorton, daughter, mother, and grandmother, died peacefully in her sleep, July 6, 1992.

She leaves with us many happy memories. Born April 23, 1928 to Delphia Jolley and Jack Morse.

Survived by her mother; two children, Paula Tasselli and Don Dorton, Jr.; three grandchildren, Angel, Jessica, Marcello, all of Alaska; also stepsister, Darlene Roberts, Salt Lake City.
