Carma Braithwaite Brown Dewey (1951 ~ 2014)

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt returned home to our Heavenly Father and her family whom she has missed so much.

Carma Braithwaite Brown Dewey was born on September 24, 1951 in Provo, Utah to Clyde and Ione Braithwaite. She was the youngest sister of four girls and had two younger brothers. Carma married David C. Brown on September 5, 1970 in the Salt Lake Temple. They settled in Salem, Utah where they raised their three beautiful, fun children. She later married Lewis Dewey on January 27, 2005.

Carma enjoyed visiting with her parents, family, and friends. She enjoyed taking her grandkids on Days out with Grandma. She loved her dogs, Dusty and Sammy, and loved all dogs. She enjoyed trips to Lake Powell, cruises, and going to BYU football games, home and away. She just loved being with her family.

Carma is survived by her three children, Thad Brown, Amy (Shane) Bott, and Ryan (Kelly) Brown, her three sisters, Sandra, Brenda, and Marsha, two brothers, Randy and Kevin, 13 grandchildren, Nichole, Ryan, Braxten, Shelbie, Tyson, Nash, Natasha, Dereck, Vanessa, Swazie, Hunter, Jovie, and Sadie, and one great grandson, Ashden, who thinks His Grandma Carma is still Awesome, her husband Lewis, her two dogs, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Carma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband David, granddaughter, Garamie, in-laws, Clayton and Berniece Brown, two brothers-in-law, Sandy and Donald, and nephew, Jared.

Our Mom will be greatly missed, but we are very thankful she no longer has to struggle with the pains and confusion she suffered from daily because of Alzheimers. We love you Mom, Grandma, Sister, Aunt, and Friend.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. at the Salem 7th Ward, 25 W. Apple Blossom Way, Salem, Utah. Family and friends may call at the church prior to services from 11:00 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. Interment will be at the Salem City Cemetery.

William A. "Bill" Nielsen was born in Provo, UT - Passed away in St. George, UT. He married and later divorced Virginia Jepson. He married Jane Diamond; later divorced. Married Erma Braithwaite - she passed away in 2007. He is survived by his brothers, Ted; Ron; sisters Enid, Roberta, Cheryll, and Colleen; sons Kyle and Jeffrey; daughters Diane, Patricia and Tauni.
Funeral services and viewing were in Orem, Utah at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary. He was buried in the Orem City Cemetery.

Ted Chase Rites Set Wednesday

NEPHI, UT., - Funeral services for Edwin Amos (Ted) Chase, 71, will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Nephi Fourth Ward Chapel with Bishop Ralph Chase officiating. He died Sunday at his home of a heart attack.

Friends may call at the Anderson Funeral Home this evening from 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday morning prior to services at the church.

Burial will be in the Nephi City Cemetery.

NEPHI, UT., - Mrs. Dora Christine Nielson Chase, 66, Nephi, died Tuesday, 2 a.m., at the home of a daughter in Orem, Utah after a stroke.

Born September 8, 1897, Scipio, Millard County, Utah, to Hans and Christine Peterson Neilson. Married to Edwin A. Chase, April 17, 1915, Nephi, Utah.

Active member, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors: husband; son, daughters, Ted, Nephi; Mrs. Douglas (Nina) Christison, Magna; Mrs. Wayne (Erma) Braithwaite; Mrs. Frank (Pat) Hudson, both Orem; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Daisy Nielson, Salmon, Idaho; Mrs. Iona Boswell, Nephi.

Funeral Friday, 1 p.m., Nephi Fourth LDS Ward Chapel. Friends call Thursday, 7-9 p.m., Anderson Funeral Home, prior to services at the chapel. Burial, Nephi Cemetery.


Earl Preston Bateman

Earl P. Bateman

Earl Preston Bateman, age 89, died November 4, 1992 in a Payson hospital.

Born November 25, 1902 in West Jordan, Utah to James Alfonzo and Parylee Pixton Bateman.

He married Myrtle Hogan in the Salt Lake LDS Temple February 14, 1923; she preceded him in death January 21, 1984.

Earl was a lifelong dairy farmer, member of the LDS Church, former employee of the West Jordan Sugar Factory, and Board of Directors member for the Utah Lake Distributing Company. He participated in and loved the art of Horse Pulling, thoroughly enjoyed the Utah Jazz but his greatest enjoyment was his grandchildren.

Survivors: children, Wayne C. and wife, Colleen, Elberta; Norma Joyce Harding and husband, Reed V., Bountiful; Earl Ray and wife, Mary, Chandler, Arizona; Leola B. Durrant, American Fork; 17 grandchildren, 54 great-andchildren, one great-great-grandson; sisters, Edna Cockayne, Nora Renshaw, Edith Stoker, all Salt Lake City.

Funeral services Saturday, November 7, 1992, 11 a.m. in the Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, where friends may call Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to time of services.

Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.


Myrtle Hogan

WEST JORDAN, UT - Myrtle Hogan Bateman, age 79, died Januray 21, 1984 in Elberta, Utah.

Born in Woods Cross, Utah to Charles Eric and Ada Rudy Hogan on September 14, 1904. Married Earl P. Bateman on February 14, 1923 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Active LDS Church member; President Young Women's; Secretary of Sunday School; Old Folks Committee; Visiting Teacher; and Teacher in various other capacities.

Survivors: Husband, Earl P. Bateman, West Jordan; sons, Ray Bateman, Burley, Idaho; Wayne C. Bateman, Elberta, Utah; daughters, Mrs. Wayne L. (Leola) Durrant, American Fork, Utah; Mrs. Reed V. (Joyce) Harding, Bountiful, Utah; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; brothers, Glen Hogan, West Jordan; Kenneth Hogan and Don Hogan, both of Ogden, Utah; Ray Hogan, California; sisters, Beth Berrett, Springville, Utah; and Alta Larson, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Funeral services Thursday, 11:00 a.m. in the West Jordan 26th Ward, 7350 South 3200 West. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street, Wednesday 6 - 7:30 p.m and Thursday one hour prior at the Ward Chapel. Burial: West Jordan Cemetery.


Marion Stanen Braithwaite

BIOGRAPHY:
EUREKA, Utah-Marion Braithwaite[0] Nash, 81, of Eureka, died at her home Monday, September 3, 1990. She was born March 2, 1909 in Spanish Fork to Jesse and Margaret Geslison Braithwaite[0]. She married Henry Floyd (Tobe) Nash, July 27, 1928, at Heber City, Utah. He died July 25, 1985. She served as Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Tintic Chapter No. 18. She also served as an Associate Grand Officer on three occasions. She graduated from Spanish Fork High School and the Maw School of Cosmetology. She has won several prizes at both the State and Juab County Fairs for her excellent quilt making.
  Survivors include one son and two daughters, James R. Nash, Eureka; Mrs. Glen W. (Marion) Lee, Ephraim, Utah; and Mrs. Bob (Betty) Robinson, Eureka; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers and a sister, Marvin Braithwaite[0], Salt Lake City; Reed Braithwaite[0], Elko, Nevada; Mrs. LaMar (Lucile) Grotegut, Spanish Fork, Utah. Preceded in death by a granddaughter, Susan Robinson. Eastern Star services will be conducted Saturday, 11 a.m. at the Holladay Hills Funeral Home, 66 South 300 East, Santaquin. Friends may call Friday evening 6-8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to service. Family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society. Interment will be in the Salem City Cemetery.

Infant Dies In Hospital

SPANISH FORK, UT., - The infant son of Max and Dorothy Edwards Braithwaite of 747 E. 5th N., Spanish Fork, Utah, died at the Lehi Hospital Saturday at 1:45 a.m. The child was born April 20, 1956.

Surviving are the parents, two brothers, Michael and Timmy; one sister, Janice, and grandparents, Mrs. Margaret Braithwaite, Spanish Fork; and Mrs. Lawrence Edwards, Seville, Ohio.

Graveside services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Spanish Fork City Cemetery under direction of Bishop J. Austin Cope. Friends may call at the Lowell J. Crabb Mortuary prior to services Sunday.
