Marvin Evan Harker

BIOGRAPHY: Think he was buried with another (second) wife.

BURIAL: Emailed: barbsch@platinum.ca from NFS t o see if she has photo of tombstone in Cardston Cemetery. She submitted the burial info.  July 2009
Email from daughter about his inscription not being on the tombstone. July 2009  Emailed daughter on Sep 22, 2009 to see if engraving on dad's tombstone was complete.
When was this picture taken?  I thought my brother had taken care of that after my dad had died.  However, since he had remarried, Dorothy had some strange ideas and cut several funeral costs etc. at the last minute.  It was my understanding that my father had already prepaid for his name to be put on after he died when my mother passed away.  I will have to check on that.
Where exactly do you live?  In my family there were 5 children. I am the oldest daughter and the second oldest in the family.  I will see what I can do to get pictures of my parents for you.  I am not too familiar with the book that you were asking about.  Lila Cahoon was my mother's cousin and I may be able to find out from some of her other cousins if they know where the book could be purchased.
A couple of years ago, my husband found a book online that was considered an antique that gave the history of my great-great grandfather Harker with his conversion in England, subsequent travel to Nauvoo, and then the Salt Lake Valley.  It has been a real treasure for me.  I learned so much about myself and others close to me as I realized that a lot of the character traits that we have came from them.  I know there were other books written about the Cahoon lines but I have not seen them.  I will check with some of my cousins whose mothers were into geneology and see if they have heard of this book and know where it could be purchased.  I will get  back to you.  Barb

Hi, Christine.
In answer to your question, I do not have a picture of the tombstone for my mom and dad Melva and Marvin Harker.  Dorothy (Marvin's second wife) apparently died in BC and I am assuming that she was buried there.  He is buried next to his first wife, my mother, Melva Lenz.
As far as Dorothy is concerned, my family was not notified of her death.  I accidentally found out at church one Sunday from visitors from BC that she had already passed away.  We did not keep in touch with her once my father passed away for a number of reasons.
