Elmo "Bill" Forbush, 80, passed away Feb. 4, 2009, at his home in Parker surrounded by his family.
Bill was born March 21, 1928, in Driggs, the son of Elmer and Blanche Mackley Forbush. He lived in Bates (near Driggs) until the family moved to Salem, where he attended school in Sugar City. At 17, with permission from his dad, he joined the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II.
Bill married Loretta June Kerswell on Feb. 16, 1949, in Idaho Falls. The marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home in Parker, where they raised their family.
