Former Mantian Now At New Post

Dr. Royden Braithwaite, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Braithwaite, is now at work in his new position of student coordinator at the BYU. Dr. Braithwaite left a post of Associate professor at Cornell University to come to the Utah school. In a short visit to Manti a week ago, Dr. Braithwaite mentioned that his return to Utah was the fourth time his sons (3 of them) had crossed the United States, each time going by a different route to see new sights.

The Brigham Young Alumnus, a magazine for former "Y" students, featured a cover page picture of Royden in it's February edition, and devoted most of two pages to him with the book. They called him "another of BYU's illustrous alumni returning to serve his alma mater."

The woes and cares of student life at the Y are not new to Royden, according to the Alumnus, which points out that he was selected "representative student" by his classmates on the Y campus in 1937, and was also president of the senior class that year. He was a member of the Cougar male quartet during his two years at the Y, also.

The Alumnus tells of Dr. Braithwaite's education which included study at Manti High School, Snow College, the Y, Stanford University and Cornell. It also tells of his work as a seminary teacher prior to going into the army as a chaplain.
