Funeral services for Donald Sedgwick, 66, of Harker Heights will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pershing Park Baptist Church in Killeen. Burial with full military honors will follow at Killeen City Cemetery.
Sedgwick died Monday at a local hospital.
He was born July 10, 1929, in Arco, Idaho, where he was reared and educated. He resided locally since 1962. He retired from the military in 1967 after 20 years of service. He was employed at Sigmore Shamrock for 16 years and Sonny's Wholesale for 10 years.
Survivors include his wife, Gertie Sedgwick of Harker Heights; a son Roy Donald Sedwick of Harker Heights; two daughters, Yvonne Tate of Alaska and Betty Joe Sedgwick of Harker Heights; three brothers, Robert Sedgwick of New Hampshire, Leon Sedgwick of Oregon and Joe Sedgwick of Idaho; two sisters Rea Redford of Idaho and Vonda Kulama of Hawaii; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.

Leon B. Sedgwick was born October 22, 1940 in Arco, Idaho to Daniel and Jenny Sedgwick.
Leon was one of 8 siblings Carl, Pearl, Vonda, Robert, Donald, Rhea and Joel.
Leon went to heaven peacefully on August 30th at Fieldstone Memory Care.
Leon served 4 years in the United States Navy on the USS Swenson and the USS Midway.
In 1993 Leon and Sharon married and they have 5 children, Kathy Thompson, Leon Sedgwick Jr., Lyle Sedgwick, Eric Eckfield and Sara Price. They have 9 Grandchildren, Randy and Ryan Thompson, Hunter Sedgwick, Kendra and Alex Sedgwick, Michael Eckfield, Tyler, Ashley, and Jordan Price. They also have 2 great grandchildren Cameron and Maggie Thompson and they are expecting a 3rd great grandchild in October.
Leon was preceded in death by, his parents Daniel and Jenny Sedgwick, siblings Pearl Palmer, Robert and Donald Sedgwick, Grandson Randy Thompson and his best friend and companion Max the golden retriever.
Leon is survived by his wife, Sharon, siblings, Vonda and Donald Kalama, Rhea Radford, and Joel Sedgwick, Bob and Sally Allen. Children, Kathy and Bob Thompson, Leon Jr. and Stacey Sedgwick, Lyle Sedgwick, Eric and Dana Eckfield, and Sara and Larry Price.
The family would like to thank the staff at Fieldstone Memory Care for the care and kindness to both Leon and family.

A Graveside Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2015 at West Hills Memorial Park,followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. at the LDS Church, Naches Ward.

Rebecca S. Potter
TREMONTON, UT., - Rebecca Sowards Potter, 84, widow of George M. Potter, died yesterday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Bunnell of Tremonton.
She was born January 8, 1875, in Paintsville, Kentucky, the daughter of George W. and Mary Ellen Emily Holbrook Sowards.
The family moved to Manassa, Colorado, in 1882, where she married George M. Potter May 2, 1894. They moved to Park City, Utah in 1896 to Grace, Idaho in 1909, and to Bancroft, Idaho in 1911. Mr. Potter died August 3, 1933 in Blackfoot, Idaho. She has since made her home with her children.
While in Bancroft she served in the Primary and Relief Society of the LDS Church.
She is survived by one son and three daughters, Elwin A. Potter, Washington D. C.; Mrs. Elily Grace Argyle, Blackfoot, Idaho; Mrs. Mildred Bunnell, Tremonton, and Mrs. Ethylene Braithwaite, Salt Lake City; two brothers and two sisters, Louise Potter, Twin Falls, Idaho; Jamina Aydelotte, DeTroy and George Sowards, all of Manassa, Colorado; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Tremonton Fourth Ward with Bishop Reid Oyler, officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. at the Roger's Mortuary in Tremonton. Interment in the Payson Cemetery.
