Our dear husband, father, grandfather, Gerald Henrie, 87, passed peacefully away in his sleep at his home in Orem, surrounded by his loved ones, December 25, 1990.
We feel so blessed that his last Christmas gift to his family was to go quietly in peace and join his little daughter Franny, who preceded him in death, and also be reunited with his parents and other dear loved ones.
He had a long, rich, and fulfilling life. He was born June 29, 1903, in Manti, Utah to Samuel and Elizabeth Boyington Henrie.
He married Laura Tucker in the Manti LDS Temple, July 25, 1933.
He attended school in Manti, Utah and graduated from Manti High School in 1923. He also graduated from Snow College and attended Utah State University and Brigham Young University. He enjoyed sports and especially loved baseball. In his younger days he played baseball for the Manti City Baseball team. He also loved to write and was also interested in current events.
Our beloved husband and father was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding the office of High Priest. He served a mission in the Manti LDS Temple and then continued on thereafter, being employed there for 12 years as a recorder. He taught Junior Genealogy classes and was active in MIA. He was a Scoutmaster, earning his Eagle Scout Award along with several of his scouts in 1920. He served as a home teacher for 60 years and also worked many years in PTA at Timpanogos and Dixon Junior High Schools in Provo.
He was employed at both Geneva Mill during its construction and Utah Vocational School in Provo. He was owner and operator of apartments in Provo for 48 years. These apartments were later torn down and a new Smith's Food King erected in their place.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Laura Tucker Henrie of Orem. He was the loving and devoted father of Norma Henrie, Orem; Mrs. Louis (Jeraldeen) Simpson, Orem; George Ray Henrie, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Mrs. Phillip (Merilyn) Olsen, Bountiful; He was loved and adored as grandfather to 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who have lovingly been at our loved one's side and helped him in so many ways these past few weeks and months. He felt your love.
Grandpa Henrie will be greatly missed by us all, but he will live in our hearts forever.
