The christening of "Rowland Brathwayte" is listed in the Bishop's Transcripts for Grasmere, Westmoreland (FHL Film # 97368), which states that he was christened on 8 October 1710 as "Rowland son of Rowland Brathwayte of Rydall".
The burial of "Rowland Braithwaite" is listed in the parish register of Kendal, Westmoreland (FHL Film # 1471685, Item #3), which states that he was buried on 2 June 1738 as "Rowland Braithwaite at Selside".
Research Note: Some early family sources have stated that Rowland Braithwaite had a daughter, "Eleanor Braithwaite", who was supposed buried on 17 February 1734 in Kendal, Westmoreland. However, in February 2013 a careful review of both the parish register (FHL Film # 1471685, Item #3) and the Bishop's Transcript (FHL Film # 97375) of Kendal and Selside could not locate this burial.
The christening of "Agnes Rawes" is listed in the parish register of Shap, Westmoreland (FHL Film # 1471809, Item #15), which states that she was christened on 20 August 1705 as the daughter of Richard Rawes.
Research Note: Some early family sources have stated that Agnes Braithwaite was buried on or about 14 August 1739 in Selside, Westmoreland. However, in February 2013 a careful review of both the parish register (FHL Film # 1471685, Item #3) and the Bishop's Transcript (FHL Film # 97375) of Kendal and Selside could not locate this burial.
The christening of "Agnes Braithwaite" is listed in the parish register of Kendal, Westmoreland (FHL Film # 1471685, Item #2), which states that she was christened on 28 April 1736 as the daughter of "Rowland and Agnes Braithwaite at Selside".
The christening of "Richard Braithwaite" is listed in the parish register of Kendal, Westmoreland (FHL Film # 1471685, Item #2), which states that he was christened on 6 January 1731/1732 as the son of "Rowland and Esther Braithwaite at Selside".
The burial of "Richard Braithwaite" is listed in the parish register of Kendal, Westmoreland (FHL Film # 1471685, Item #3), which states that he was buried on 14 August 1737 as "Richard [the] son [of] Rowland and Agnes Braithwaite at Selside".
Research Note: The wife of Rowland Braithwaite was definitely "Agnes" and not "Esther". Unfortunately, the parish register lists Rowland's wife as "Esther" when their first child, Richard, was christened in 1731/1732. However, there was an "Esther" who was listed two lines above this Rowland's christening, and the parish clerk or priest could have mistakenly referred to this entry while writing down the name of Rowland's wife.
The christening of "Alice Braithwaite" is listed in the parish register of Kendal, Westmoreland (FHL Film # 1471685, Item #2), which states that she was christened on 22 October 1738 as the daughter of "Agnes Braithwaite, Widow at Selside".
