Victoria Lee Rogers

Cause of Death: Suiside...to protect children

Very little is known about the family durring the years between Kelly and the twins births. It was belived amoung family that Vicki was selfish and keeping Alvin and Kelly from the family. All we knew for sure was that she went to Colorado for surgury, and low and behold she had what was belived to be a breast agmentation the next time the family saw her. It was assumed that this was a vanity issue. As the twins grew she became very ill. Again she withdrew from the family. We were told afterwards that the doctors did not know what was wrong. When the twins started to exhibit the same simptoms, Vicki desided the only way to protect her children was for her body to be studied. She waited for the family to be gone. Alvin was the first one home. She went into the bathroom, stepped in the tub, closed the curtain, and using her toe pulled the trigger of a twenty-two shot gun. From her obituary, we learned that she had breast cancer, and that the breast surgry was a replacement for what she lost...plus some. The aptopsy showed that her silicon implants were to blame for her unexplainable sickness. As she breast fed the twins, it was decided that the twins had silicon poisoning as well. Without Vicki's death, it may never have been discovered why the three of them were so ill. Vicki lived...and died for her children.

Name: Victoria is the name listed on Vicki and Alvin's wedding announcement. It is the only referance I have to her full name. Even Vicki's headstone, obituary, and other documents has her nickname. I remember her saying that her name was Victoria but that she didn't like it because it was so old fashioned.

Walter Elmer Ireland

Walt was born on April 6, 1956, in Boise, to Elmer and Barbara Ireland. The eldest of three boys, he was raised in Prairie, where he attended grade school and then graduated from Mountain Home High School.

He married Debra Ann Pierce in 1972. They had two sons, Jake and Buford.

Throughout his lifetime, Walt worked in many different jobs, all the while, helping his family on their cattle ranch.

In his younger years, he was a cowboy for Harry Charters and ran a pack-string for Gordan Stimmel on Fourth of July Creek on the North Fork of the Clearwater River.

After retiring his construction company, Walt started a cross-country horse hauling business, and in his later years, worked for Treasure Valley Livestock.

Walt served on the volunteer fire department in Mountain Home for many years and served as lieutenant for several of those years. He was very proud of his service to the residents of the Mountain Home area.

Walt rode broncs in his high school years and team roped his entire life. He also enjoyed watching his two boys compete in rodeos.

Another great love of his was hunting. You could find Walt in the hills, searching for a big bull or on the desert, plinking whistle pigs.

Walt was always happy to lend a hand to anyone in need. Most of the kids around Mountain Home called him "Uncle Walt," though he was the happiest when he became "Grandpa Walt."

BORN: 12 Jan 1962
Died: 18 Sep 2012
State (Year) SSN issued: Wisconsin (1963)

OBIT: The Daily Herald (Provo, UT) - Thursday, September 27, 2012

John Timothy Bestor

John Bestor- beloved husband to Chris, devoted father to Braden, Lauren, Ryan and Megan, and sweet son of Rollie and Phyllis Bestor - passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Blessed from an early age with incredible athletic prowess, John achieved success as a national level swimmer with the Scera Barrracudas and Utah Valley Dolpins and a celebrated football player at Orem High School. But most of his success was attained as a pole vaulter and decathlete at BYU where he became the WAC champion in this strenuous event. Many of his athletic records as a high school and college champion went unsurpassed for years. John also was given the Tigerama Award at Orem High School as the senior boy who had contributed the most and served in an exemplary manner in his high school.

John approached his life's avocation with the same determination as he did his athletics. After graduating from Brigham Young University, John attended the police academy where some of his physical fitness records still remain. He then became a police officer for Provo City. After three years of merited service, Bestor and his young family moved to Salem, Oregon where for seven years, he worked as an insurance fraud investigator.

Finally, John pursued a long-time dream of becoming an FBI agent. Upon graduation from the FBI Special Training in Quantico, Virginia, John received the prestigious Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity Award. Prior to his death, Special Agent Bestor worked in medical fraud, functioned as a community and press liaison for the Atlanta office of the FBI and most notably, worked in the area of international terrorism. This last position took him and his family to overseas' postings in Kenya and Egypt for five years. Upon his return to Atlanta, John received the coveted US Attorney General's Award for Distinguished Service.

Athletic and career successes aside, John's greatest achievement was attained with his wife of 29 years, Christine Braithwaite Bestor. John served as a Bishop in his Oregon Ward and in a Stake High Council for the LDS Church and together with Chris they dreamed of and lived an idyllic life with four children who will now carry on the legacy left by their father.

A funeral service was held in Atlanta on September 22, 2012, followed by an interment with full military honors at the Sawnee View Memorial Gardens in Cumming, Georgia.
