BIOGRAPHY: Elga Henrie Larsen, 87, passed away July 14, 1995, in Provo, Utah, of causes incident to age.
Born February 25, 1908, in Manti, Utah, to Samuel Henrie and Hannah Elizabeth Boyington.After graduation from Manti High School, Elga attended and graduated from Snow Jr. College with a degree in education. She then taught second grade in Centerfield, Utah. Elga married George Calvert Larsen June 19, 1932, in the Manti LDS Temple. The remainder of her life she lived in Ephraim.
She held many positions in the LDS Church, including ward and stake Young Women's MIA President, Relief Society teacher, visiting teacher, and secretary, Primary teacher and ward speech and drama director.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Gerald Henrie; and grandson, Errol Teichert.
Survivors include two sons and two daughters, Calvert Therald Larsen and wife Colleen of Virginia, Kim Larsen and wife Katie Jean of Ephraim, Georgia Teichert and husband Burke of Orem, and Lynette Cox and husband Wes of Centerville; also a sister-in-law, Laura Henrie of Orem; 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, July 19, 1995, at 12 noon in the Ephraim Stake Center, 4th East and Center Street. Friends may call on Tuesday, 7-9 p.m. at the Ephraim Stake Center and Wednesday, 10:30-11:45 a.m. Burial, Ephraim Park Cemetery under the direction of the Ursenbach Funeral Home.
BIOGRAPHY: Kim Henrie Larsen 1945 ~ 2007 Kim Henrie Larsen, age 61, was born April 13, 1945, in Salina, Utah, to George Calvert and Elga Henrie Larsen. He passed away, surrounded by his family, in Provo, Utah, on January 10, 2007. Dad was a lifelong resident of Ephraim and loved this valley. He graduated from Manti High School and Snow College. He then earned a degree in Agricultural Economics from Brigham Young University. He served an LDS mission to Switzerland, volunteered for the Utah National Guard, and fulfilled numerous church and civic responsibilities. Dad spent his life working with animals and the land; he was a successful rancher and stockman in Sanpete County. Dad was a simple man who didn't care much for fancy things. He loved his family and found joy in working with them. He had the ability to love and accept many into his family. Family members surviving him include Katie Jean Price Larsen, his eternal wife of 38 years; his seven sons Kirk (Mary Catherine), Karl (Marci), Kary (Jackie), Kal (Shantelle), Kip (Danni), Keith, and Kelly; seven grandchildren; and long-time friend David (Mickie) Candia. He is also survived by his siblings Calvert Therald (Colleen), Georgia (Burke) Teichert, and Lynette (Wesley) Cox; brother and sister-in-law Jay and Helen Rigby; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and parents-in-law, Stanley and Helena Price, who he loved and who loved him dearly. Dad will be remembered for his sharp wit, his keen sense of humor, his ability to help others see humor, his unforgettable smile, and his dignity and cheerful attitude despite his long illness. His lasting legacy will be the lives of his seven sons. We will miss him greatly and look forward to the time when we will see him again. Funeral services will be held on Mon., Jan. 15, 2007, at 12:00 noon in the Ephraim Stake Center. Friends may visit the family at a viewing in the Stake Center from 10:00-11:30 a.m. on Monday or from 6:00-8:00 on Sunday evening. Burial will be in the Ephraim City cemetery.

Aged Pioneer Called To Rest
Sarah Wilkinson Buchanan died at the age of 73 at her home in Manti Sunday, Manti, 1920 of general debility and was buried in the local cemetery Wednesday. She had been ailing but one week. Until that time she had enjoyed excellent health. All during the winter she has walked to the temple where she loved to work. For twenty two years she has been a faithful ward relief society worker and a constant attendant at her religious meetings.
She was born to Allen and Maryan Wilkinson in Pisga, Iowa, October 16, 1817 and two years later came with them to Manti where she has lived ever since. In 1866, she was married to John Buchanan in the LDS Edowment House in Salt Lake City by Daniel H. Wells. A large family of children blessed their married life.
Those of her children left to mourn her loss are Mrs. John C. Miller, Raphael, Archibald, Mrs. Martin Braithwaite, and Mrs. J. P. Christensen, 40 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Morley of Moroni and Mrs. Van Buran of Ironsides, Oregon.
Those from out of town who attended the funeral held in the tabernacle Wednesday were Mrs. Andrus Jensen, half sister of Richfield, James Wilkinson nephew, with his wife and daughter of Annabella, Mrs. J. L Miller of Richfield, Mrs. Edward Christensen, Mrs. George Christensen, Mrs. Eva ____, Mrs. Amanda Christensen and Mrs. Joseph Peterson all of Redmond.
