Services Held For Mary E. Dixon
Funeral services for Mary E. Dixon were held in the South Ward Chapel Friday afternoon.
The first song, "We Shall Meet Beyond The River," was sung by the ward choir. President L. R. Anderson offered the invocation after which Mrs. Arvold Jensen sang "The Holy City." Special musical numbers were "Perfect Day", solo, Sam Parry assisted on the violin by Eleanor Parry and accompanied on the piano by Jack Brown; "Oh My Father," Erastus Peterson and Co.; "I Have Read of a Beautiful City," Mrs. Ellis Moffitt.
The speakers were James Groen, Hyrum Christensen, Erick Ludvigson, Mrs. L. R. Anderson and Bishop G. W. Sidwell. The closing song was "Beautiful Home" by the choir, and the benediction was pronounced by Andrew Mickelson.
A large number of out-of-town relatives and friends attended the funeral.
LaMar Fredrickson
PRICE – Christian LaMar Fredrickson, age 87, passed away February 22, 2013 in Provo, Utah. LaMar was born August 27, 1925 in Gunnison, Utah as the youngest child born to Fred and Fannie Swenson Fredrickson. He married Norma Denison on August 27, 1946 in Sterling Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.
LaMar was raised in Centerfield, Utah, and graduated from Gunnison High School in 1944. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army Air Corp where he was a P.O.W. After he married, he became a barber and practiced in Gunnison for 15 years. In 1967 they moved to Price. He then worked for C.E.U as Physical Facilities Director, retiring in 1988. He enjoyed outdoor activities, especially water skiing. He was a handy-man with objects and people.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many capacities, including as a sealer in the Manti and Nauvoo Temples. He served three temple missions with his wife in the Manti Temple, Atlanta, Georgia Temple, and Nauvoo, Illinois Temple. Service was very important to him, and his family was his life. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and neighbor.
LaMar is survived by his wife, Norma; children: Kathy Fredrickson of Kalispell, Montana and Glen (Debbie) Fredrickson of Price; sister, Anna Jorgenson of Bountiful, Utah; brothers-in-law, Milton (Lola) Denison of Sandy, Utah and Calvin (Alys) Denison of Perry, Utah; sister-in-law, Darlene (Arlo) Larsen of Cedar City, Utah; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ross Lynn Fredrickson; two grandchildren, Gregory Fredrickson and Roslyn Fredrickson; sister, Alice Clark; sister-in-law, Nedra Stewart; and in-laws Forrest and Geniel Denison.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Price LDS 4th Ward Chapel. There will be a viewing Monday, February 25 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (680 East 100 South, Price) and on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Cliffview Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
