DEATH: Francis Arthur Shand Manti, Utah "Finny" Shand, 66, of Manti, Utah, passed away March 11, 2010, at his home after a long battle with congestive heart failure. He was born April 23, 1943, in Manti, Utah, to Leda Olsen and David Arthur Shand. He married Denise Braithwaite, on December 7, 1968, in Manti, Utah. Finny was a member of Moroni Feed Company and was a turkey grower for many years. He is survived by his wife, Denise, Manti; children, Kim S. (Richard) Tenny, AZ; Lori S. (Richard) Rigby, Mt. Pleasant; Brenda Lee Shand, Manti; grandchildren, Jordan, Danielle, Darian, River, Rhett, Hunter, Carleigh, Ian and Ricky; brother, Donald D. (Leigh Ann) Shand, Manti; sisters, Lorrane S. Raines, Ephraim; Patricia Lund, Cedar City; Janet Paulson, Taylorsville; Jerrie S. (Mike) Frank, Salt Lake City; Ardith Shand, Ephraim. He was preceded in death by a son, Travis Arthur Shand; parents; sisters, Joan and Susan. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. in the Manti 2nd LDS Tabernacle. Friends may call at the Manti Tabernacle on Monday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. and again at the tabernacle on Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Manti City Cemetery. Born Aug 26, 1975 to Francis and Denise Braithwaite Shand. Married Misty Mower June 3, 1995 in Manti UT, later sealed in the Manti LDS Temple June 8, 1996. Travis was a member of the Manti LDS 3rd Ward, worked for Craig Oberg building Systems in Ephraim. Travis had a heart as big as his hands.
Survived by his wife, Misty; two sons, one daughter, Darian Joy, River David, Hunter T. Reed Shand, all Manti; mother and father, Francis and Denise Shand, Manti; three sisters, Kim S. Tenney, Lori S. Casimir, Brenda Lee.
Services Wed. Dec 18, 2002, 12 noon, Manti LDS Stake Center where friends call Tues. 6-8 p.m. and Wed. 10-11:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Manti City Cemetery. Funeral Directors, Buchanan Mortuary. Published: Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002 - Deseret News
