Elden L. Winn
KENILWORTH, Carbon County, Utah - Funeral services for Eden Lorus Winn, 73, Kenilworth, who was killed Wednesday in an automobile accident near Salina, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Kenilworth Ward Chapel.
He was born December 13, 1898, in Nephi, a son of Eden and Carrie Breinholt Winn. He married Ruby Merriam on March 2, 1919, in the Manti LDS Temple, and she died on July 25, 1955.
Mr. Winn was a retired school teacher in Carbon School District. He had been lieutenant governor of the Kiwanis Club and a member of Price Elks Lodge, Utah State Historical Society, Carbon Art League.
For many years he served as principal of the Rains, Kenilworth and Hiawatha Schools. He was a member of the LDS Church.
Survivors include two sons and two daughters, Robert T. Winn, Sunnyside; Mrs. Vincent (Marjorie) Howlett, Price; L. Ray Winn and Mrs. Howard (Leola) Ludwig, both of Salt Lake City; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother and three sisters, Mrs. Lionel (Zelma) Jensen, Centerfield, Sanpete County, Utah; Mrs. Lillian Fjeldsted, Ephraim; Lloyd Winn, Murray; Mrs. Don (Veda) Jensen, Gunnison.
Friends may call at the Fausett Mortuary in Price tonight from 7 to 9 o'clock and at the chapel Saturday one hour before services. Burial will be in the Manti City Cemetery.
Eden Lorus Winn attended Ephraim Utah High School; Snow College,Ephraim, Utah; BYU, Provo, Utah. B.S. and Master's Degree. Taught school.
Played in band and orchestra. Enjoyed music and studying many subjects.
