Baby Drowns In Irrigation Ditch
Edna, the 20 month old baby daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Denison of Sterling accidently fell into a large irrigation ditch near her home last Saturday and was drowned.
Baby Edna, while going to her grandmother's became overbalanced it is thought, and fell into the swift stream where she lost her life. The mother missing the child mad a search at the neighbors but not finding her the neighborhood was aroused and a general search started. The childs body was found lodged in the stream a block and a half below the home. Every means of resuscitation was resorted to until the doctor came to save her life but with out avail.
Funeral services were held over the remains Monday at 4 o'clock in the Sterling school house. the speakers were Solon Edwards, George Bradley, Hyrum Christiansen and Bishop Ludvigson. A vocal solo was rendered by Mary Funk. Other selections were rendered by the choir.
Baby Edna was then laid to rest in the Sterling Cemetery. There were many beautiful floral offerings.

Sterling Couple To Note Golden Date
An open house will be held Sunday, November 22, 1964 in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hyrum Jensen on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary. It will be held between the hours of 2 to 5 p.m. at their home in Sterling.
Mr. Jensen was born August 29, 1891 in Moroni. He has been a farmer and livestockman all of his life. He has been an active member of the LDS Chruch. He has served as a ward teacher for years as well as working in the Elder's Quorum, Sunday School and MIA.
Myrtle Denison Jensen was born in Manti on July 24, 1895. She is a member of the Relief Society and Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She has also served in several capacities in other ward auxiliary organizations. Mrs. Jensen has been and still is very creative piecing and making of quilts.
The Jensens were married November 18, 1914 in the Manti LDS Temple. They are the parents of seven children, six of whom are still living. They are: Emerson H., Manti; Mrs. Rodney (Vivian) Childs, Centerfield; Lenn C., Ephraim; Miles D., Salt Lake City; James N., Magna; Rodney Lee, Sandy; 15 grandchldren and eight great-grandchildren.
They are ver ardent outdoor people, raising their own garden produce and a large variety of flowers. Mrs. Jensen can still find time to crochet adding the finishing touch to many pairs of pillow cases, dollies and numberous other designs and motifs.
The couple request no gifts.
