Arthur Pearl Saunders, 68, of 2827 Monroe, died Saturday morning in a local nursing home following an extended illness.
Mr. Saunders was born July 7, 1904, in Palisades, Idaho, a son of George Martin and Mary Elizabeth Willey Saunders. He came to Ogden with his parents as a young boy and was reared and educated in the Ogden City schools.
On November 23, 1931, he was married to Sarah DeYoung in Farmington, Utah.
He had worked for the Utah State Roads Department for 10 years, the Ogden Arsenal for a short time, the Weber County Roads Department for 27 years, retiring as a drag line operator July 10, 1969.
He was a member of the Weber County Employees Association and the 18th LDS Ward.
Surviving are his widow, one son and three daughters: Wayne George Saunders, Detroit, Michigan; Mrs. Clyde (Shirley Rae) Moss, Ogden; Mrs. Kenneth B. (Marion Joyce) Wall, Vernal; Mrs. Chester (Barbara Ann) Fortuna, Roy; 13 grandchildren.
Also surviving are one brother and six sisters: Kenneth Saunders, Mrs. Joseph (Oles) Bingham; Mrs. Lawrence (Myrtle) Empey, Mrs. Leslie (Evelyn) Cole, all of Ogden; Mrs. Glen (Luella) Carver, Sunset; Mrs. Ira (Cora) Wall, Layton; Mrs. Garr (Irene) Snowball, Vallejo, California.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Flowers Mortuary, with Bishop DeLance Holoson of the 18th Ward officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday until time of services. Interment will be in the Aultorest Memorial Park.

Sarah DeYoung Saunders Wagner
OGDEN -- Sarah DeYoung Saunders Wagner, 90, died August 15, 2002 of causes incident to age. She was born February 27, 1912 in Ogden, Utah, a daughter of John and Florence Braithwaite DeYoung.
She married Arthur Pearl Saunders, November 27, 1931. He died September 2, 1972. This marriage was solemnized in the Ogden Temple October 12, 1973.
She married Lloyd Raymond Wagner May 8, 1974, in the Ogden Temple for time only. He died February 17, 1988. They were Ogden Temple Workers form 1975 to 1978. They enjoyed traveling throughout the United States visiting with family members.
Sarah worked at the Ogden Arsenal in the middle 40"s during WWII and was a past member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
Surviving are one son and two daughters, Wayne (Joan) Saunders, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; Marion (Ken) Wall, of North Ogden, Utah; and Barbara (Pete) Larsen, of Morgan, Utah.
Sarah has 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Step children include Verna (Paul) Morgan of Lancaster, California; Robert (Shirley) Wagner of Mantua, Utah; Wes (Ethyl) Wagner of Golden Dale, Washington; Fran Richards of Clearfield, Utah; and Ida Krussell of Clearfield, Utah. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, brother John DeYoung and her daughter Shirley Rae Saunders Moss.
The family would like to thank all the friends who offered support. Also a special thank you to the staff at Aspen Care Center and Hospice for Utah for the loving care during these last few months.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 19, 2002, at 11 a.m., at Leavitt"s Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah. Friends may call at Leavitt"s on Sunday, August 18, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Monday, August 19, from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment at Leavitt"s Aultorest Memorial Park.

John Miles Denison died at his home Tuesday morning of emenia [anemia]. He had been ailing for about two months, but was confined to his bed only about ten days. Mr. Denison was highly respected and well liked by all. He was assistant superintendent of the Sunday school at the time of his death. He was born in Manti June 2, 1879, being the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Denison. He leaves a wife and two small children, Miles Lemar age 3 and Ruth Ilean age 6 months, a father, mother, three sisters and seven brothers. His parents moved to Sterling when he was a child where he has resided since. He was married to Ina Ruth Edwards daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Edwards in Dec. 1907. Funeral services will be held in Sterling today at 1 p.m.

Born in Manti, Utah, February 8, 1881, to Hans and Agnes Braithwaite Denison. Married Helen Parthena Funk in Manti LDS Temple September 13, 1905; she died March, 1955. Farmer.
