Tot Crushed Under Wheel

Two-year old Bruce Braithwaite, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Braithwaite of 810 West 28th Street, was killed yesterday when his head was crushed by a neighbor's auto as she backed from her driveway, police reports showed.

Opal D. O'Nell, 31, of 800 West 28th Street, told officers W. W. Gibson and K. K. King the lade apparently darted into the driveway as the car was under way because she had checked before starting the motor.

The body was taken to the Christensen-Pino Mortuary.

The lad's death was the 17th traffic fatality of the year here, compared with 15 on the same date last year.

DEATH: Ruth Braithwaite Anderson  "Will Be Missed" Ruth Braithwaite[0] Anderson (85) joined in heaven her sweetheart, Robert Kenneth February 28, 2004 after a brief battle with metastatic colon cancer. Ruth, 7th of 9 children, was born October 18, 1918 in Spanish Fork, Utah to John and Elnora Chisholm Braithwaite[0]. Ruth and Bob married April 7, 1942 in Las Vegas, NV and became eternal companions in the Mesa, AZ LDS Temple March 11, 1947. She was a member of the Canyon Rim Ward for 52 years, where she faithfully served our Heavenly Father. She was an active member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Canyon Rim Camp. Ruth was an accredited and accomplished executive secretary working many years at the U of U Math Department and for several General Authorities of the LDS Church. Mom's greatest love was being with her family and grandchildren who will miss her greatly. Ruth is survived by a brother, Jack (Myrtle) Braithwaite[0]. Her legacy includes six children, Robert, Jr. (JoEllen), Cheryl (Jim) Wilhelm, Brian (Jan), Donna (Chris) Butler, Richard (Deb), Anita (Steve) Hansen; 32 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchil-dren. She joins many in heaven including her sweetheart, parents, seven siblings, and a grandson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Canyon Rim Stake Center, 3051 So 2900 E. where friends and family may call Tuesday morning from 9-10:45 a.m. prior to service. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Funeral Directors. The Holbrook Mortaury.

June L. Greenig

June L. Greenig, 23, 1415 Orizaha Avenue, died at a local hospital yesterday. She was born in Spanish Fork, Utah, and came to Long Beach 11 years ago.

She is survived by her widower, Daniel Greenig; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Braithwaite, Long Beach; three brothers, Victor, Mark and Jack Braithwaite, the latter in the U.S. Army Air Corps; and three sisters, Mrs. Dale Sharp, Mrs. Charles Downing and Mrs. Robert Anderson, all of Long Beach.

Funeral service will take place in the Mottell Mortuary chapel Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and interment will be in Rose Hills Memorial Park.
