James Andrew Delano Ratcliffe, 75, passed away on July 16, 2014 in Murray, Utah.

He was born on February 7, 1939 in Grantsville, Utah to Delbert and Gladys Ratcliffe. He graduated from Grantsville High School and later married Billie Dean Barnson in Nevada of 1964.

Delano loved cooking, fishing and sitting by a nice warm fire.

A memorial service for Delano will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 starting at 5:00pm at the Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah.

Maurine Braithwaite Draper, 85, of Manti, Utah, passed away July 9, 2007, in Provo, Utah, with her family near her side.

She was born April 29, 1922, in Manti, Utah, to Clinton J. And Eva Hall Braithwaite. She married Earl L. Draper in 1967 and he preceded her
in death in 1997.

She is survived by her children, Geraldine K Olsen (Bill) Felkins,
Hotchkiss, CO; Lee K. Olsen, Shawnee, CO; MaryAnn Marx (Chris) Dunn,
Saratoga, WY; and Roy C (Diana) Marx, Ogden, UT; eight grandchildren; 11
great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Wayne
(Liz) Braithwaite, Ogden; Wallace (Laura) Braithwaite, Sunset; Carl
(Orvella) Braithwaite, Manti; Maxine (Rex) Peterson, Ogden; and Elga
(Eric) Nicholls, Manti.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; infant son; grandson,
Billy Roush; and a brother, Lynn Braithwaite.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 13, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in
the Manti 3rd Ward LDS Tabernacle, Burial will be in the Manti City Cemetery.

85th - Maureen Draper and Maxine Peterson

Twins, Maureen Braithwaite Draper of Manti and Maxine Braithwaite Peterson of Ogden, celebrated their 85th birthday's recently.

The ladies were born to Clinton and Eva Hall Braithwaite in Manti.

Maureen has lived in Colorado and Wyoming while married to Earl Draper. She worked at the famous Manti parachute plant during World War II and spent many of her working years as a beautician.

Maxine and her husband, Rex, have lived in Maine, while Rex was in the Coast Guard, and Nevada before moving to Ogden to work for the Internal Revenue Service.

Merrill Henry Maylett Sr.

BIOGRAPHY:  Merrill Henry (Bud) Maylett Sr, 88, passed away on December 18, 2008 in Manti, Utah. He resided at 388 West 500 North in Manti, Utah at the time of his death.    Dad was born on September 20, 1920 in Manti, Utah, the last of six children of Henry and Amanda Jane Boyington Maylett. His mother died when he was 9-years-old. "Bud" grew up in the farming and livestock business with his family, and continued that trade throughout his life. He also was a Manager for the Manti Grocery. He attended local public schools, and graduated from Manti High School. He very much loved music and sang for many funerals and weddings throughout his life.    He was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many Church callings. Bud also served two terms on the Manti City Council. He married Verla Petersen on January 23, 1942 in Nephi, Utah. The marriage was solemnized on July 23, 1948 in the Manti Temple. Verla preceded him in death on November 5, 1997.    He is survived by his children, Sharon Green, Manti; Merrill (Janice), South Jordan; Greg (Janet), Manti; Cory (Rhonda), Salt Lake City; Lori (Don) Weber, Payson; daughter in law, Shirley Maylett, Grass Valley California; 15 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren Preceding him in death were his parents, son Ted Maylett; son-in-law, Max Green; sisters: LaVern Chapman, Helen Stott, Ida, Lynn Burt; brother, Thomas Maylett.    Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. in the Manti Tabernacle. Friends may call at the Tabernacle on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Monday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.  Burial will be in the Manti Cemetery. Published in the Deseret News on 12/21/2008.

DEATH: Graveside services for Ted Maylett of Grass Valley will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Sierra Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Nevada City.
  Mr. Maylett died Friday, Nov. 17, in Grass Valley. He was 68.
  He was born July 31, 1938, in Manti, Utah, to Merill and Verla (Peterson) Maylett. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years, retiring as a master sergeant. He also retired as a field service engineer for an aircraft engineering company.
   He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of Grass Valley; daughters Vicki of Grass Valley, and Terri of Swansea, Wales; and one grandchild.

Carl J Braithwaite

Manti, Utah

Carl J Braithwaite, 87, of Manti, passed away at his home on Monday, June 30, 2014. Carl was born February 27, 1927 in Manti, to Clinton J and Eva Hall Braithwaite.

Carl was raised in Sanpete and had to leave school early to help provide for his family. He farmed over 1,000 acres west of Manti. Carl married his sweetheart Orvella Mills on December 15, 1944 in Sterling, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He drove the school bus for 19 years, hauled coal, fixed T.V’s and spent several years as part of the Sanpete County Search & Rescue. Carl enjoyed fishing and going south for the winters. He excelled in making crafts out of pop cans and seashells. Most especially Carl loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Orvella of Manti; children: Tony (Lee) Braithwaite, Henderson, NV; Russel (Jane) Braithwaite, Arizona City, AZ; Cathy (Gary) Hammond, Manti, UT; Diane (Kay) Watt, Washington, UT; Debra Chase (Clint Lloyd), South Salt Lake, UT. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Lynn, Wayne, Maurine and Maxine, and a great-grandson, Trent.

Graveside services and interment will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Manti City Cemetery.

Friends may call prior to services at Magleby Mortuary, Manti from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
