BIOGRAPHY:  Abner Burton Lowry, our beloved father, grandfather and brother, returned to his Heavenly Father, March 26, 1992.
   Born November 25, 1911, in Manti, Utah to George Edward and Katie Murill Braithewaite Lowry[0]. Married Mary Lunette Black, October 14, 1939, in Salt Lake City; marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a friend to all he knew and was loved by many. He loved life and working in his yard. He had worked various places as a mechanic and body man. He retired from Tooele Army Depot, where he spent many years as a body man. He was an active member of the LDS Church and held the office of High Priest. He had served in numerous capacities throughout his life. He and his wife, served a mission in the Georgia Atlanta Mission.Survived by his sons, Wilford Kent and wife, Gaye; Burton Wayne and wife, Verneal; Delbert Fred and wife, Karla; daughter, Anne and her husband, J. Craig Wexels, all of Tooele; 21 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brothers, Leonard, Kearns; Eugene, Tooele; Francis, Salt Lake City; sister, Mrs. Lorna Fallows, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a daughter, Lois Kaye.
   Funeral services Mon., March 30, 11 a.m., Tooele North Stake Center, 583 North 270 East. Friends may call Tate Mortuary, 110 So. Main Street, Sun. 6-8 p.m. and Mon., one hour prior at the church. Interment: Tooele City Cemetery.

Mary Lunette Black

BIOGRAPHY: Mary Lunette Black Lowry passed away February 1, 1990, in Tooele, Utah.
   She was born January 21, 1917, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Wilford Rex Black, Sr., and Elsie Isabelle Manning. She married Abner[0] Burton Lowry[0] on October 14, 1939, in Salt Lake City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She was a talented homemaker and a friend to all she knew. She worked at the lunchroom at Tooele High School for a number of years. She retired from Tooele Army Depot.She was a member of the LDS Church, and had been Relief Society president, ward librarian, and had held various teaching positions. She and her husband served a mission in the Georgia-Atlanta Mission.
   She is survived by: Her husband, Abner[0] Burton Lowry[0], and sons and daughter and their mates, W. Kent and Gaye, B. Wayne and Verneal, D. Fred and Karla, and Anne and J. Craig Wexels; 21 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers and sister, Wilford Rex, Jr., Keith, Thomas, Gerald and Patricia, all of Salt Lake City; Hal, of Yuma, Arizona, and Dean, of Alta Loma, California. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Lois Kaye.
   Funeral services will be held February 5, 1990, at the Tooele North Stake Center, 583 North 270 East, at 11 a.m. A viewing will be held Sunday evening, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Tate Mortuary in Tooele, and one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday. Interment, Tooele City Cemetery.

BIOGRAPHY: William Francis Lowry "Frannie" 1920 ~ 2006 William Francis Lowry returned to his Father in Heaven on December 24, 2006, to be with his wife, Bevie. He was born in Duchesne, UT, on January 19, 1920, to George Edward and Katie Muriel Braithwaite[0] Lowry. Fran moved to Tooele, UT, where he was raised and married his wife Beverley on March 3, 1943, in the Salt Lake Temple. He started working at the age of 13 as a mechanic and retired at 65. He then started a new career driving tractor and fixing things for the City of South Salt Lake. After 20 years, he retired a second time at age 85. Fran served in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Bishopric, Quorum of the Seventy, Sunday School and many other responsibilities. He was a faithful home teacher and served his neighbors. Preceded in death by his wife and sweetheart, Beverley Louise Martin, parents, five brothers, one sister and daughter-in-law Sandra Smith Lowry. Survived by his children; Kaye, Ronald (Sandy), Merlynn and Stacey (David) Liddiard; nine grandchildren, five great-grand -children and faithful dog, Ginny. Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, 11 a.m. in the South Salt Lake Stake Center, 2280 South 300 East. Friends may call on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006, from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple and one hour prior to services at the church.

Beverley Louise Martin

BIOGRAPHY:  "Bevie"
  Beverley Louise Martin Lowry returned to her Heavenly Father on Monday, August 11, 2003 with her family gathered around her.
  She was born in Tooele, Utah on October 3, 1923 to George Wayne Martin and Jennie Elizabeth Terresa Sorensen. She married the love of her life William Francis Lowry on March 3, 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had three children born in Tooele and completed their family with a fourth child born in Salt Lake.
  Beverley grew up in Lakepoint, Utah and later moved to Tooele. It was there that she and Francis began their family. They later moved to Salt Lake where she lived until the time of her death. She was a member of the LDS Church devoting over 60 years to music. She took piano lessons as a child, but her mastery of the organ was self taught. She loved to play the organ. She spent many hours at her own organ with her little companion, Ginny her poodle, at her side, and her husband close by enjoying the beauty of her music.
  Survived by her husband, William Francis Lowry; daughters, Kaye F. Lowry, Merlynn Lowry and Stacey (David) Liddiard; son, Ron Lowry; sister, Audrey McClaws; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, two brothers and her daughter-in-law, Sandy S. Lowry.
  Funeral services will be held Friday, August 15, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the South Salt Lake Stake Center, 2280 South 300 East. Family and friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, and at the stake center Friday one hour prior to services. Interment, Tooele City Cemetery, 361 South 1st East, Tooele.

David Thomas

TOOELE, UT., - Funeral services for David Thomas, 51, former mayor of Stockton and prominent Tooele county resident, who died Wednesday at his home in Tooele, will be conducted at Tooele LDS North Ward Chapel Sunday at 1 p.m.

Mr. Thomas was born in Salt Lake City on March 16, 1888, a son of Henry and Anna Hughes Thomas. He lived at Stockton until 1929, when he moved to Tooele, where he had resided since. He was mayor of Stockton six years and served as town clerk eight years. He was a member of several fraternal and labor organizations and was active in the LDS Church.

He married Bessie Maize in 1911. His first wife died and he married in 1930, Mrs. Mary Braithwaite Larsen.

He is survived by his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Ray Maxfield; and two brothers, Will Thomas of Stockton and Joe Thomas of Salt Lake City.

He died Monday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Beverly) Shelton in Kansas City, Kansas, after a heart attack.

Retired employee of Tooele Ordnance Depot.
