Dean Jones Francom

1Obituaries - Deseret Newspaper (ONLINE), 2009. "Dean Jones Francom, age 87 of Payson, passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2001 at the home of his son and daughter-in-law in Sandy where he has been living for the past three years.
  He was born December 6, 1913 in Payson, Utah, a son of George Arthur and Harriet Viola Jones Francom. He married Bernice Lundell, June 30, 1936 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death November 26, 2000.
  Dean served in the US Navy during World War II and was involved in the Philippines and Borneo invasions. He was a member of the American Legion for many years. He retired from Geneva Steel. He and his wife were volunteers with the Life Line program and installed emergency response systems in the homes of families with special needs. He and his wife were recognized as "Outstanding Citizens of Payson" in 1988. He was always helping family and friends.
  He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities including: Elders Quorum President, High Priest Group Leader, Bishopric, and sang in the ward choir. He and his wife served as Temple Ordinance Workers in the Provo Temple and after she passed away he served in the Jordan River Temple.
  Survivors include: three daughters and two sons: Marcia (Gary) Braithwaite[0], Orem; Kathleen Morgan, Lehi; Waldon D. (Linda) Francom, Paula Barney, all of Sandy; Allan C. Francom, Anderson, Indiana; 20 grandchildren; 37 great-grand-children; one great-great-grand-daughter; two brothers and three sisters, George A. Francom, Sandy; Dale Francom, (his twin) Deon Rydalch, Thella Reynolds, and Ruth Nelson, all of Murray. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Larry Morgan; a grandson; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Aleen Francom.
  Funeral services will be Saturday, November 24, 2001, 1 p.m., in the Payson Park Ward Chapel, 110 South 300 West. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Friday, 6-8 p.m., or at the church Saturday, 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery."

  She was born August 7, 1918 in Benjamin, Utah, a daughter of Carl Fredolf and Vida Tippetts Lundell. She married Dean Jones Francom, June 30, 1936 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Bernice graduated from Spanish Fork High School. She was active in PTA; American Legion Auxiliary; 4-H Clubs; and Daughters of Utah Pioneers, where she served as secretary. She served as a Pink Lady Volunteer at Payson Hospitals for 17 years and was Hospital Volunteer of the Year in 1984. She enjoyed taking school classes on educational tours of the hospital and especially enjoyed preparing children for surgery with a pre-surgery party. She and her husband also participated in Lifeline by installing emergency response systems in homes. She and her husband were recognized as the Outstanding Citizens of Payson in 1988. Her primary interest was her family, and she also enjoyed embroidery, flowers, and gardening. She had an extensive kno-wledge of medications and also genealogy. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many capacities including: teacher in MIA, Primary, and Sunday School; Stake Board for Sunday School and Primary; Ward and Stake librarian; secretary in Primary; Sunday School, and Relief Society; Relief Society visiting teacher; and as a Temple Ordinance Worker from June 1976 - April 1981.
  Survivors include: her husband, Dean; three daughters and two sons, Marcia (Gary) Braithwaite[0], Orem; Kathleen (Larry) Morgan, Lehi; Waldon D. (Linda) Francom, Paula Barney, all of Sandy; Allan C. (Vanessa) Francom, Pendleton, Indiana; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a sister, Lila (Van) Smith, of Mesa, Arizona. She was preceded in death by: four brothers, Orville, Russell, Clyde, and Floyd Lundell; two sisters, Myrtle Lundell and Mabel Sevey; a sister-in-law, Leola Tanner Lundell; a grandson; and three great-grandchildren.
  Funeral services will be Friday, December 1, 2000, 11 a.m. in the Payson Park Ward Chapel, 110 S. 300 W. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 S. 100 W., Payson, Thursday, 6-8 p.m. or at the church Friday, 9:45-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery.

(Jocelyn Kaye) Jensen of Las Vegas, NV. ; sister, Clara W. Boberg; brother, Wayne (Phyllis) Winget and 80 grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents; brothers, John, Lewis, and Albert Winget; sisters, Mary Larson, Nelda Heki, Fern Bower and Mazie Bea Stolz.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. in the Monroe 4th LDS Ward Chapel, 49 East 200 North in Monroe, where friends may call on Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30. Dawna Vee Bown

Manti, UT - Dawna Vee Jensen Bown, 82, of Manti, passed away on September 10, 2012 after a long and fulfilling life. Our dearest wife, mother and grandmother left this life to return to her Heavenly Father.

Dawna was born on March 30, 1930 to Bert and Iona Jensen in Monroe, UT. She had three siblings: Geneal, Joe and Ronald. On January 20, 1950 Dawna married Kenneth H. Bown. They were married for 62 years. Together they had three children: Paul (VaNae), Peggy and Sandra, 12 grandchildren and many great-grand children.

She loved people. Dawna worked in the 4-H program for 20 years. She taught and judged many fairs. In her younger years Dawna taught in the Scouts. She was a partner in the Country Cousins gift shop for 25 years. She worked at the shop and made many friends. Her joy was her accomplishments, family, friends, games, crafts, peanut butter, Ritz, cookies and coffee. She gave us all laughs and love.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Manti Stake Center, 555 East Union. Friends may call prior to services on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Interment will be in the Manti City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti."

Rosalie Johnson Bown

Rosalie Johnson Bown, 79, passed away July 31, 2004 from respiratory failure following minor surgery.

Born December 31, 1924, in Elsinore Utah to John Stanley and Verna Clarkson Johnson.

Married J. Ralph Bown, 1947, in the Salt Lake Temple.

She graduated from high school in Richfield, Utah and attended the University of Utah. Lived 50 years in the Val Verda 2nd Ward where she was very active. She loved to tend young children and was active in the Relief Society presidency, and other positions. She was released last Sunday after six years as the Visiting Teacher Supervisor. In July she orchestrated a very successful Johnson family reunion. She befriended many people and became their lifelong friend. Rosalie and Ralph were temple workers in Bountiful, temple guides in Salt Lake City and served a mission in Tarawa, Kirabati. She loved teaching music at the LDS High School in Tarawa. She loved to travel with Ralph and family members to exotic foreign destinations and made wonderful travel albums.

Rosalie is survived by her husband, Ralph, of 56 years; three children, James (Shelby) of Centerville, UT, Patricia of West Valley, UT, Charles (Rebecca) of Brigham City, UT. She was a wonderful grandmother to 18 grandchildren, and four great-grand-children. She is also survived by a sister, Marilyn (Howard); and brother, Robert (Margaret).

She was preceded in death by her parents; older sisters, Ellen and Viola; and daughter-in-law, Dianne. Funeral services held Wednesday, August 4, 2004 in the Val Verda Stake Center, 2600 S. 500 W. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery."
