   Earl was born October 31, 1914 in Ephraim, Utah, a son of Joseph L. and Caroline Willardsen Braithwaite. He married Lucille Sorenson on June 10, 1938 in the Manti LDS Temple. She died June 4, 1986. He married Irene C. Hoggan[0] on September 5, 1987.Earl was raised and educated in Ephraim, Utah, graduating from Ephraim High School. He attended Snow College, majoring in accounting and business. He was employed as office manager for Burr Chevrolet Company in Ephraim from 1936 to 1942. In 1942, he moved from Ephraim to Ogden where he was employed at Hill AFB, serving in several executive positions in accounting, finance, procurement and supply. Earl had been a resident of Ogden since 1942 and following his retirement, spent his winters in Coronado, California.
   Earl was an active member of the Highland Ward of the LDS Church serving in various positions including High Priest, Home Teacher and choir member.
   Earl was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family.
   Surviving are his wife, Irene, of Ogden; two daughters, Ann (Gary) Sweetnam, Canyon Country, California; Vee (John) Gooch, Layton, Utah; three step-daughters, one step-son, eight grandchildren, 19 step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and eight step-great- grandchildren. Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille, his parents, two brothers, Verlan and Leroy, and two sisters, Edna B. Smith and Elva B. Siler.

OGDEN - Irene Coombs Hoggan Braithwaite, 85, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 15, 2004 at McKay-Dee Hospital surrounded by her family whom she loved so much. She was born in Los Angles, CA to William R. Coombs and Edith Rice Coombs on December 13, 1918.

She married Bert Hoggan on May 1, 1941 in the Salt Lake City Temple. He died October 20, 1978. She later married Earl Braithwaite who passed away July 6, 1999. She was a life long resident of Ogden, Utah.

Irene was a member of the last graduating class of the old Ogden High School. She graduated from Utah State University with a degree in education. She taught elementary school in the Ogden City School District for 25 plus years.

Irene had a love of the arts, attending ballets, operas, and the theater. She belonged to the Modern Literature Club, and the Opera Guild of Ogden. She loved her association with Chareya Womens Organization, ZiZi Sorority, bridge clubs, birthday club, and past association with Lady Lions, Patio Springs and Golf City Ladies Association and Utah National Guard Ladies Auxiliary.
Irene was an active member of the Ogden Highland Ward and held numerous positions in many wards. She especially loved her many years of service as Jr Sunday School Coordinator. Irene enjoyed wintering in Coronado CA, traveling, and spending time with family.

She is survived by three daughters, Elyce and Doug Larkin, Ogden; Annette and Farrell Brown, So. Ogden; and Edith Ann and Chuck Anger, No. class=GramE>Ogden; one son, David and DeAnn
Irene is preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, and her only sister, Belva (Glen) Ranson.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 19, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden. Friends may call on Sunday, April 18, 2004 from 6 to 8 p.m. and also one hour prior to services at the mortuary.

Neldon is survived by his wife Lois, his brother Kim Braithwaite[0], San Diego, CA; his children Laurel Braithwaite[0], Ogden; Elaine (Robert) Holden, Ogden; John (Janet) Braithwaite[0], Salt Lake City; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister Coralie Richardson. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Mound Fort 2nd Ward Chapel, 952 Childs Avenue, (one and a half blocks west of Washington Blvd. on 10th Street) with Bishop Ryan Woodward officiating.    She was born June 27, 1903 in Clarkston, Utah, a daughter of Thomas James and Annie Elizabeth Loosle Buttars. She married Herman L. Thompson Jr., December 8, 1933 in the Logan LDS Temple.She attended Cache Co. Schools and Brigham Young Academy in Logan, Utah. She served as a teacher in the Primary, MIA, Sunday School and was a Relief Society Visiting teacher for many years. She enjoyed singing in the ward and Relief Society choirs. She also enjoyed working in the temple. She had lived in Clarkston until 1956 when she then moved to Logan.
   Survivors: husband, Logan; two daughters, Anna Clarice Tolson, Logan; Arba Jean and Lynn Kerr, Twin Falls, Idaho; two sons, Tony James and Sharon Thompson, Salt Lake City; Royce Buttars and Jean Thompson, Bear River City, Utah; three sisters, Erma and DeVerl Thompson, Berneice and Joe Griffin of Clarkston, Lois and Nelson Braithwaite[0], Ogden; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers and four sisters; one grandson and one great-great-granddaughter.
   Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 21, 1996 at 12 noon in the Allen Hall Mortuary Chapel. Friends may call Tuesday evening 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to services. Burial in the Logan City Cemetery."

   Born June 19, 1913, in Clarkston, Utah. The fourth son of twelve children born to Thomas James and Annie Elizabeth Loosle Buttars. Married Letha Petersen on May 15, 1937. Sealed in the Logan Temple.Attended school in Clarkston, North Cache, and Utah State Agricultural College. Farmer by choice, he loved the land, the mountains, and was an accomplished horseman. Dedicated his life caring and nurturing his wife and family.
   Born and raised in Clarkston, Utah, where he lived for 63 years prior to moving to Logan, Utah. Married his high school sweetheart with whom he shared his life with for 49 years. A High Priest in the LDS Church, served a stake mission with his wife. A strong, robust man, who loved life and lived it to the fullest.
   Survived by three sons and one daughter, Mrs. Lynnwood E. (Deann) Savage, D. Chris Buttars, Donald R. Buttars and Jeffrey A. Buttars. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Herman L. (Jenny) Thompson, Logan; Mrs. Neldon (Lois) Braithwaite[0], Ogden; Mrs. Joseph (Bernice) Griffin and Mrs. DeVerl (Erma) Thompson, both of Clarkston; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by wife, four brothers and three sisters.
   Funeral services will be held at the Allen Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center St., Logan, Utah. Viewing will be Wednesday, February 24, 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services. Funeral will be at the mortuary chapel, 1 p.m. Thursday, February 25. Burial will be at the Clarkston Cemetery in the family burial plot."
