Born December 1, 1906 in Manti to Lewis Robert and Clara Maria Munk Anderson. He was educated in Manti schools and graduated from Snow College. Served in the Utah National Guard. Served LDS mission in the Eastern States. Married Bernice Braithwaite[0] December 15, 1931 in the Manti LDS Temple. She precede him in death in 1966. Lifelong resident of Manti, engaged in the poultry and farming business. Over the years he held many business, civic, and church positions. He had been a director of the Manti City Bank, and the Moroni Feed Company. Elected to the Manti City Council for two terms. Bishop of the Manti South Ward twice, and held several other church assignments. He was a Manti LDS Temple worker at the time of his death.Survived by three sons, George L., Salt Lake City; Richard G., Bountiful; and Dr. Thomas E., Gunnison; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Lucile Keller, Manti; brother, Elliot, Mayfield. Funeral will be Tuesday, March 26th, at 1 p.m., in the Manti 3rd-4th LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call Monday, 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, one and a half hours prior to services. Funeral services for Mrs. Bernice Braithwaite Anderson,60, Manti, will be Thursday at 1 p.m., Manti South Ward Chappel. She died Oct. 30,1966 at her home.

Born Aug.27, 1906, Manti, a daughter of George Riley and Minnie Ahlstrom Braithwaite. Married to L. Glen Anderson, Oct. 15, 1931, Manti Temple. Graduate Manti High School, Snow College. Attended Brigham Young Unversity. Active in civic affair. Served counselor, secretary, Relief Society, 20 years. Visiting teacher at the time of death.

Survivors: husband, sons, George L., Salt Lake City, Richard G.,Bountiful, Dr. Thomas E., Ephraim, Sanpete County; six grandchildren, brother, sister, Elliott R. Braithwaite, Manti, Mrs. Orville(Laura)Evershed, Salt Lake City.

Last Respects Paid Last Thursday to Bernice Anderson

Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 3, 1966 at 1 p.m. for Bernice Braithwaite Anderson, who had died Sunday, October 30, 1966 after a long illness. She was the wife of L. Glen Anderson of Manti.

The services were conducted by South Ward Bishop J. Wallace Wintch and were as follows:

Prayer at mortuary, Bishop Elliott R. Braithwaite

Prelude and postlude music, Jane Braithwaite

Opening Prayer, Roger Evershed

Speakers were R. Clair Anderson, Lucille Carpenter, Stake President Vernon L. Kunz with remarks by Bishop Wintch.

Musical selection, "I Need Thee Every Hour" and "Abide With me Tis' Eventide," by the South Ward Singing Mothers, directed by Thera Lou Hickman accompanied by Jane Braithwaite

Organ solo, "O My Father' by Eunice A. Garbe

Closing prayer, John Braithwaite

Pallbearers were Roger Evershed, John Braithwaite, Neil Buchanan, William Anderson and Lewis Garbe."

Roy M. Thornton

WOODLAND, UT- Roy Mackey Thornton, 88, died Jan 1, 2002 in Heber City, Utah.

Born on July 2. 1913 in Oakley, Idaho to John Thomas and Suzannah (Mackey) Thornton. Married Anna Ruth Jensen in Junction, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple.

She preceded him in death on June 16, 1981. He later married Myrle V. Layton on Jan. 19, 1982. She also preceded Roy in death.

Roy wore many hats during his earthly mission. He was an elder in the LDS church, a master mechanic, a Volunteer Fire Fighter, and during World War II he was an instructor for the Home National Guard.

He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He made us laugh and see life as a time to have joy. His love of people and the great out-of-doors was evident in everything he did. He told great stories and spoke with in his awesome hands.

He is survived by his three sons: Ted R. (Anna Von) Thornton, Midvale, UT; George W. (Lynda) Thornton, Salt Lake City, Utah; and Gary M. (Vicki) Thornton, Woodland, UT; and his daughter, Klela Mae (Craig) Bolinder, Fruitland, Utah; also 13 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Francis L.D.S. Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. Interment will follow in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Crandall Funeral Home."

Our sweet angel wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend slipped peacefully into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Aug. 8, 2011 while surrounded by family at Utah Valley Hospital.

Born Aug. 9, l934 in Manti, Utah. She was the oldest of five children born to wonderful parents, Jerald and Laura Henrie. Brother Ray Henrie, sisters Jerry Simpson, Merilyn Olsen and preceded in death by Frances Henrie.

She was educated at Brigham Young High School and LDS Business College, where she excelled in secretarial science. She became a secretary at Fort Douglas where she met and married Nick Rokich. They were married for 35 years and later divorced and remained good friends. They are the proud parents of Gibson and Kandi Rokich and Ron and Nicki Rokich Benoit.

She was executive secretary at Thiokol, Hercules and director of Project Read at Provo Public Library where she wrote government grants and blessed the lives of many adults, teaching them to read.

She met and married Ken Tucker on Aug. 27, l994. They enjoyed music, poetry, nature and just spending time together in their beautiful garden.

She is best known for her sweetness, acts of kindness, generosity and her perfect poem for every occasion.. She was a member of the LDS church and wrote beautiful poems about her Heavenly Father, family and nature. Her life long dream was fulfilled when her book of poetry was published.

One of Norma's greatest blessings were her grandchildren; Tasha,Derek,Nicholas,Neil,Torrey,and Madison. Great Grandchildren;Chancey,Tryloglie.

Her death leaves a void in our lives and we will miss her kind and gentle nature, but we are so happy to have her free of pain and to be enjoying the company of her loved ones who have gone before.

The family would like to express gratitude to the kind caregivers at Beehive Rest Home and doctors, nurses and hospice at Utah Valley Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held Sat. Aug. l3, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at Windsor 1st ward, 1505 North 145 East, Orem,Utah. Visiting with family, friends and neighbors will be one hour prior to services.

Contributions can be made in Norma's name to Project Read at Provo Public Library."

George Warren Tucker, 76, died at his home, 27 W. 8th N., Orem, Wednesday evening following a 10-day illness.

He was born Mar. 25, 1882, at Fairview, the son of George and Sarah Jane Brady Tucker.

He received his education in the Sanpete County schools.

He married Keziah Frances Mower, Nov. 27, 1901, in the Manti LDS Temple.

In 1923, he moved to Provo with his family where he lived until one year ago when he moved to Orem.

A carpenter and a builder by trade, he had also served as County Assessor for Sanpete County for several years and had farmed in Fairview.

Mr. Tucker had been an active member of the LDS Church working in the Sunday School, MIA and Genealogy Committee.

He was secretary of the High Priest Quorum of the Orem Tenth Ward and serving on the Genealogy Committee at the time of his death.

He had sponsored four families to this country from Holland.

He was a writer of poetry and composed words and music for songs.

He sang in many choruses and played in a dance orchestra for more than 20 years.

He is survived by his widow and 10 sons and daughters: George W. Tucker Jr. of Willard; Clarence Tucker of Provo; Ernest L. Tucker of Edgemont; Mrs. Jesse (Alice) Young of Provo; Mrs. Jerald (Laura) Henrie of Provo; Mrs. Stanley (LaVon) Roberts of Provo; Mrs. Raymond (Virginia) Green of Heber; Mrs. J. Monte (Maxine) Wight of Pinedale, Wyo.; Mrs. Arlo (Vonda) Richardson of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Brady (Olive) Walker of Orem. Forty-nine grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; a half-brother, Heber Mower of Fairview; four sisters, Mrs. George Shelley of Provo; Mrs. George Twilling, Mrs. William Harris and Mrs. Charles Shepard of Sacramento, Calif.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Aura C. Hatch Mortuary.

Friends may call at the mortuary Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday prior to services.

Burial will be in Provo City Cemetery."

George Warren Tucker, 76, died at his home, 27 W. 8th N., Orem, Wednesday evening following a 10-day illness.

He was born Mar. 25, 1882, at Fairview, the son of George and Sarah Jane Brady Tucker.

He received his education in the Sanpete County schools.

He married Keziah Frances Mower, Nov. 27, 1901, in the Manti LDS Temple.

In 1923, he moved to Provo with his family where he lived until one year ago when he moved to Orem.

A carpenter and a builder by trade, he had also served as County Assessor for Sanpete County for several years and had farmed in Fairview.

Mr. Tucker had been an active member of the LDS Church working in the Sunday School, MIA and Genealogy Committee.

He was secretary of the High Priest Quorum of the Orem Tenth Ward and serving on the Genealogy Committee at the time of his death.

He had sponsored four families to this country from Holland.

He was a writer of poetry and composed words and music for songs.

He sang in many choruses and played in a dance orchestra for more than 20 years.

He is survived by his widow and 10 sons and daughters: George W. Tucker Jr. of Willard; Clarence Tucker of Provo; Ernest L. Tucker of Edgemont; Mrs. Jesse (Alice) Young of Provo; Mrs. Jerald (Laura) Henrie of Provo; Mrs. Stanley (LaVon) Roberts of Provo; Mrs. Raymond (Virginia) Green of Heber; Mrs. J. Monte (Maxine) Wight of Pinedale, Wyo.; Mrs. Arlo (Vonda) Richardson of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Brady (Olive) Walker of Orem. Forty-nine grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; a half-brother, Heber Mower of Fairview; four sisters, Mrs. George Shelley of Provo; Mrs. George Twilling, Mrs. William Harris and Mrs. Charles Shepard of Sacramento, Calif.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Aura C. Hatch Mortuary.

Friends may call at the mortuary Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday prior to services.

Burial will be in Provo City Cemetery."
