Funeral services for Dennis Braithwaite, 66, of Pima will be conducted Thursday, Aug. 25, at 10 a.m. at the Pima LDS Chapel by Bishop Mark Beus of the Pima First Ward. Concluding services with military honors conferred by the Gila Valley Veterans Honor Guard will follow in the Pima Cemetery.
Dennis Allen Braithwaite entered into rest surrounded by his loving family August 18, 2011, in Tucson, AZ.
He was born September 20, 1944, in Los Angeles, CA, to Frank Anthony Parenzin and Mildred Reva Thompson. He was later adopted by Jack Herbert Braithwaite.
Dennis, at the age of five, moved to Salt Lake City, UT with his mother and sister.
At age eleven, he moved to Vancouver, WA when his mother married Jack Braithwaite.
During his teenage summers, Dennis worked with the Forest Service in both Washington and Oregon. He graduated from Hudson Bay High School in 1962.
Dennis attended BYU for one year, then served an LDS mission in Lima, Peru for 2 ½ years.
He returned to BYU in 1966, where he majored in Music, Theater Arts and Education.
In 1967, he met the love of his life, Jeanene Romney. They dated for 9 months when Dennis received his letter from Uncle Sam. Avoiding a draft, Dennis entered for 3 years in the Army.
He served in Viet Nam for 1 year, stationed in Pleiku, Viet Nam on the Cambodian border. Dennis was proud to serve his country. He returned from Viet Nam 5 days before he was sealed to Jeanene in the Mesa LDS Temple, January 17, 1970.
He graduated from BYU in 1972, with a degree in Music Proficiency and Secondary Education. His first teaching job was in Terreton, ID. He later taught in Fredonia, AZ. Working for Romney Produce Company; he and Jeanene settled in Pima, AZ.
Dennis returned to teaching in Duncan, AZ and then in Ft. Thomas, AZ where he taught for 23 years.
Dennis was known for his musical abilities throughout Graham and Greenlee counties. He was proficient in both the piano and the organ and had a beautiful singing voice. He sang solos in” The Messiah” at Eastern Arizona College for 29 years.
Dennis served his community for 20 years as a volunteer fireman, became and EMT and IEMT, working for Kord’s Ambulance and also worked in the emergency room at the Mount Graham Regional Medical Center. He worked as a dispatcher for the Graham County Sheriff’s Dept. for some years. He briefly worked for David’s Safford Funeral Home for Paul David before retiring.
Dennis was a lifelong, faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in various capacities including Ward Executive Secretary, Primary Worker, Young Men’s Secretary and many dedicated hours in music utilizing his talents. He most recently served in the Gila Valley Temple.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanene; his father, Jack; his son, Brent; his daughter, LaRee, and son-in-law, Dallin Mason, and their children, Miel, Zoe and Bodhan Mason.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Reva Braithwaite; his sister, Linda Braith-waite; his daughter, Heidi Braithwaite; and his granddaughter, Alyssa Braithwaite-Brady.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Aug. 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Vining Funeral Home and Thursday morning from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the Pima LDS Chapel Children’s Meeting Room.

Heidi Elaine Braithwaite
Heidi Elaine Braithwaite, 24, passed into eternal rest July 20, 2006, while vacationing with friends in Orlando, Florida.
Heidi was born at Mt. Graham Hospital in Safford on Sunday, Feb. 28, 1982, the daughter of Dennis and Jeanene Braithwaite, and the sister to Brent and LaRee.
Heidi grew up in Pima, attending school there and graduating with the Class of 2000 from Pima High School. Heidi made friends with everyone she met and had so much fun with them while they attended school. She later attended Eastern Arizona College and had a great time graduating with a degree in applied office technology in 2002. While attending school, she worked at the Pima Freeze and later at Discovery Plus Academy, where she enjoyed her job and loved the children she worked with.
In August 2004, she decided to leave the nest and moved to Mesa. She was able to get a job with Ferrin Electric and grew to enjoy it very much and worked there until her passing. Heidi was a member of the Desert Ridge Ward in Mesa, where she served as a visiting teacher and a visiting teacher supervisor.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 26, in the Pima First Ward Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with President Mark S. Bryce presiding and Bishop Tom Claridge conducting.
Musical numbers were presented by Jace and Melinda Nelson and Linda Braithwaite. Heidi's life story was presented by her brother, Brent, and her sister, LaRee Mason. The sermon was given by her uncle, Craig Romney, and closing remarks were given by President Bryce and Bishop Claridge.
The congregational hymns were led by Dee Wilkins with Pat French at the organ. Heidi is survived by her parents, Dennis and Jeanene Braithwaite; her brother, Brent Braithwaite; sister, LaRee (Dallin) Mason; her grandfather, Jack Braithwaite; her grandmother, Cora Romney; her aunt, Linda; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Concluding services for Heidi were held at the Pima Cemetery, where a special number was sung by some of Heidi's friends, and the dedicatory prayer was offered by C.B. Fletcher. Heidi will be dearly missed by her family and her friends. Arrangements were entrusted to Caldwell Chapel."

"Grandpa" died at home, asleep in his bed � just the way he wanted it. Each of us were blessed to see him recently and express our love for him. He will be dearly remembered, and sorely missed.
Born in Sterling, UT on October 12, 1921 to Lila Swensen and Myrland Denison. His childhood was spent in Sterling, UT along with two brothers and three sisters. He married the love of his life, Eva Lund December 22, 1941 in the Manti Temple. They moved to Salt Lake and began their 62-year journey. Together they raised two daughters. Their "Grandkids" were the light of his life.
Attended USU and Snow College, preparing for his career as a heavy equipment mechanic. Retired from Foulger Equipment Company after 35 years of dedicated service where he found many of his life-long friends. Grandpa was a hard worker, always ready to lend a hand. He was a skilled mechanic and an innovative craftsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, spending time with his family and was still water skiing in his 50's.
Homer is survived by his wife Eva; daughters, Kathleen Karsch and Gayle (Michael) Cherrington; sisters, Betty Lou (Dell) Lewis and Fay Christiansen; four grandchildren, Jeff Karsch, Byron Karsch, Aimee (Michael) Henderson and Michelle (Kevin) Moore; eight great-grandchildren. He loved us all simply because we were his family. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Gail and Dick, sister, Donna.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004 at Nibley Park Ward, 2460 S. 600 E. A viewing will be held at Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 S. Highland Dr. on Friday, Aug. 6, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church."

2Obituaries - Deseret Newspaper (ONLINE), 2009. "Eva L. Denison 1922 ~ 2007 Eva Viola Lund Denison, 85, passed away at her home on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 of natural causes. Eva was born on February 9, 1922 to Marie Thompson and T. LeRoy Lund. She was raised in Ephraim, Utah along with four sisters and one brother. She married Homer M. Denison on December 22, 1941 in the Manti Temple. They moved to Salt Lake City, and began their life together. They proudly raised two daughters and enjoyed time spent with their four grandchildren. Eva was a skilled seamstress. She grew beautiful peonies and plump delicious tomatoes. Eva took great pride in her home and garden, and cooked the most wonderful "comfort food". As a younger woman, she enjoyed hunting and fishing with her family, and playing cards with friends. In her later years, she enjoyed her Thursday afternoon "club", and attending church on Sundays. She was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be sweetly remembered. Eva is survived by her two daughters; Kathleen Karsch and Gayle (Mike) Cherrington, both of Salt Lake; her four grandchildren; Jeff (Kathy) Karsch, Byron Karsch, Aimee (Mike) Henderson and Michelle (Kevin) Moore, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Homer, her parents, sisters; Beatrice, Leora, Lavone and Vera and brother Lloyd. A viewing will be held at Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 S. Highland Dr. on Wednesday, Dec. 26th, from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Thurs. at the church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27th. at Nibley Park Ward, 2460 S. 600 E."

Born November 11, 1916 in Panguitch, Utah, son of Otto E. and Lillian Hatch McIff. He married Dona Denison November 11, 1938 in Sterling, Utah; marriage solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple May 26, 1939. He was a lifelong member of the LDS Church, presently a High Priest in the Sterling Ward. Currently serving as a Board Member on the Sterling Town Council. He attended public schools in Panguitch and Gunnison. He worked in scouting in his earlier years. He loved the outdoors, especially his farm.Survived by his wife, Sterling; children, Mrs. George (Dorothy) Dawson, Riverton; Gary R. McIff, Bennion; Paul D. McIff, West Valley City; Roger M.
