Former Resident Passes

Lee A. Steck, 48, son of Mrs. Clarissa Steck of Manti, died in Idaho on Tuesday of last week. At the time of his death, he was manager of the Fall River Rural Electrification Administration Corporation at Ashton, Idaho.

He was born in Manti, May 3, 1906, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Heber Steck, and spent his younger years in Manti.

He is survivied by his widow, two daughters and his mother.

Funeral services were held at Ashton on Friday of last week, with burial in the Ashton Cemetery."

Ellen Ann Oberg Steck 1909 - 2006

MAGNA - Ellen Ann Oberg Steck, 96, passed away November 5, 2006 in Bountiful, Utah.

She was born December 9, 1909 in Mayfield, Utah to Edwin and Mary Jensen Oberg. Married Edward Steck April 23, 1930 in Richfield, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple; he preceded her in death April 26, 1979.

Ellen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings including as a Temple Worker. She also taught genealogy classes and worked extraction. Ellen enjoyed her garden and worked in it daily. She had a love for all nature.

She is survived by her children, Colleen (Harvard) Heaton, Garry (Carol) Steck, Virginia (Lloyd) Shelley, and Clair (Nancy) Steck; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Erma Nicholson and Pearl Rabb; andbrother, Lynn (Lois) Oberg.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at the Elk Run Chapel, 3610 South 8400 West, where friends may call Wednesday 10:30-11:45 a.m. before services. Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates.
