   Born August 26, 1921, in Manti, Utah, a son of Ray C. and Martha Louise Wintsch Bartholomew. Graduated from Gunnison Valley High School and attended BYU. He served an LDS mission in the western states. Was in the Army Air Force during World War II. He married Darlene Rasmussen August 27, 1944. Marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple February 1945.Dean served as bishop, stake patriarch, stake presidency and many other capacities.
   His family is very grateful to the Transplant Organization, University Hospital and Gunnison Valley Hospital for their tender loving care.
   Survived by his wife, Darlene, of Fayette; children, Pam (Paul) Braithwaite, Salina; Clayton (Terry) Bartholomew, Orem; Deann (Craig) Bluemel, Lyman, WY; Mary Louise (Rick) Dove, Ogden; Janice (Rex) Oliver, Santa Clara; foster son, DeVon Parson, Salt Lake; sisters, LaRae Chatelain, Logan and Bessy (Grant) Howard, Plano, ID; 25 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.

  She was born August 7, 1922 in Salina, Utah, a daughter of Clayton and Mary Westenskow Rasmussen. She married Dean Wintsch Bartholomew, August 27, 1944 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, February 20, 1945. He died March 11, 1999.
  Darlene is survived by her children: DeVon Parson, Pam and Paul Braithwaite, all of Salina; Clayton Bartholomew of West Jordan; Deann and Craig Bluemel of Lyman, Wyoming; Mary Louise and Rick Dove of North Ogden; Janice and Rex Oliver of Santa Clara; 25 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister: Calvin and June Rasmussen of Riverton; Neal and DeLora Rasmussen, Helen and Tom McCullough, all of Las Vegas, Nevada.
  She was preceded in death by a son, Dean Brent Batholomew; one grandson; a sister, Anita Taylor; a brother, Hal Rasmussen and a daughter-in-law, Terry Bartholomew.

Mayo Balle Young slipped away from us at home in Spring City, Utah on Sunday morning, December 20, 1998.

Mayo was born August 14, 1912 in Huntington, Utah to Lorenzo Dow and Emma Rosalia Balle Young. He was raised by his grandparents Christian and Sarah A. Balle in Fremont, Utah. He loved to hunt and fish in Wayne County. He moved to Spring City in 1993. He married Madge Braithwaite on May 8, 1933, and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Madge died December 13, 1970. He married Alice Connelly in Elko, Nevada. She died in 1988. Mayo met a sweet lady, Wanda Jensen in Manti in April, and they were married and sealed in the Manti LDS Temple on August 15, 1998. They honeymooned for four wonderful months, each day better than the last.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda; son Mayo Keith (Carolyn); daughter Evelyn (Glen) Chlarson; step-son Bob (Patty) Connelly; step-daughter Diane Nelson; other step-children, Tami (Donald) Davis, Michele Garrick, Loftin (Wanda) Lee, Brent (Gloria) Lee, Lorraine Smith, JoAnn Matson, William (Kay) Jones, and Betty (Oliver) Sequeira; 61 grandchildren; 88 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Blake, daughter Bonnie, and step-daughter Lana Lynn Lee.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, December 23, 1998 at 11 a.m. at the Spring City Ward Chapel, 164 South Main, Spring City, Utah, where Friends may call one hour prior to Services.

He was born February 7, 1923 in Lehi, Utah to David Daniel Davis and Annie Pear Loader. He married Dorothy June Peck (divorced); Bonnie Rose Young (divorced); and on February 8, 1971 he married Dorothy Louise Boyce Wood and together they have shared the last 33 years of his life. Harry was a veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater with the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions. He was a High Priest in the L.D.S. church. He was a light and heavy-duty diesel mechanic for the State of Utah. He enjoyed his pet bird, playing his organ music, and driving his Lincoln.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy Louise Boyce Wood; children, Dorothy Swenson of Pleasant Grove; Harry Charles (Johnson) of Bountiful; Harry Bruce of Taylorsville; Dale H. Funeral Held For Charles F. Mogle, 93

Funeral services for Charles F. Mogle, 93, were held at the Buchanan Funeral Home Monday at 1 p.m., with Bishop Morgan Dyreng conducting. Mr. Mogle died in a Salt Lake hospital Friday of arterosclerosis.

He was born November 18, 1866 in Orangeville, Illinois, to Jacob and Amelia Wohlmord Mogle. He married Bertha Theide in Salt Lake City in 1908.

Mr. Mogle was a retired railroad telegrapher and former station agent in Manti.

He is survived by two sons, Wesley, Manti, and Charles I., Sacramento, California; and by four grandchildren.

Prelude and postlude music for the service was played by Maud Reid, with two vocal selections by Thera Lou Hickman and Dorothy Larson.

Prayers were by Leslie J. Anderson and Maurice Jones.

Speakers were Ray P. Lund and Bishop Dyreng.

Burial was in the Manti City Cemetery, with the grave being dedicated by Grant Mogle."

Prominent Farmer, Dairyman Dies

Leslie Jorge Madsen, 50, prominent farmer and dairyman, deid unexpectedly between four and five o'clock Friday afternoon of a heart attack.

He was born in Manti, June 17, 1896, a son of Jorgen and Hannah Anderson Madsen and had always made his home here, engaging in farming and stockraiising. He was a member of the Manti choir and was a seventy in the Manti South Ward.

Mr. Madsen served with the Utah State National Guard on the Mexican border in 916 and after his return, married Rebe Alder, December 20, 1916, in the Manti Temple.

He is survvied by his widow; five sons, Leonard and Morgan Madsen, Manti; Wayne Madsen, Colorado Spring, Colorado; Melvn and Clair Madsen, Salt Lake; two daughters, Pauline and Joyce Madsen, Manti; two brothers, Ernest and Leo Madsen, Manti and two sisters, Mrs. Henrietta Ford, Pocatello, Idaho, and Mrs. Ellis Moffitt, Manti.

Funeral Held ---

Well attended funeral services were held in the Manti South Ward Chapel Tuesday afternoon with Bishop L. Glen Anderson in charge. The floral tributes were many and beautiful. Preliminary music was by Luch Nielson and daughter, Joan. The Manti choir, direceted by E. E. Johnson and with Maude Reid as accompoanist, sang "Lord We Come Before Thee Now" and the invocation was by E. T. Reid.

Bishop Anderson, in short remarks paid honor and respect to the family and told of Mr. Madsen being a faithful worker and of his help with the South ward project at the County Fair last year.

J. W. McAllister of Provo sang "Going Home" after which Bishop Alma C. Peterson spoke as a friend and pal of "Brother Leslie." He had known Mr. Madsen, his wife and faimly ever since he could remember and spoke of their service in the National Guard, adding that Mr. Madsen was a true soldier who was always giving the other fellow a lift, being stalwart, humorous and full of life. Mr. Madsen, the speaker said, had served with him in the Mutual for may years and was his counselor in that organization. He also spoke of Mr. Madsen's membership in the ward choir and ward quartet for many years.

President L. R. Anderson, speaking as a friend and neighbor, extended resepect and condolence to the bereaved family, and said that death is very much a part of life and can by expected anytime by anyone. "We are here for needed experince and prayer has a very important place in life," the speaker said, and added that the gospel gives a clear understanding of life, why we are here and where we are going. The best life is a clean life, physically and spiritually, Mr. Anderson said, and paid tribute to Mr. Madsen as a fine neighbor who was always cooperative.

Easton Moffitt played a violin solo, "Out of the Dusk," which had been one of Mr. Madsen's favorties. He was accompanied by Mrs. Moffitt.

C. W. Sorenson of Mt. Pleasant spoke as a brother-in-law to the family and said the gospel teaches us to mourn with the mourners and rejoice with the rejoicing. He told of Mr. Madsen's splendid ancestry and said deceased had been on to do the right thing at the right time, honest, earnest, upright and courageous. He also spoke of the service the Madsen boys had rendered their country.

Bishop Anerson extended the thanks of the family to all who had taken part in the funeral, given floral tributes, or helped in any way.

The closing song by the choir was "May We Who Know" and the benediction was pronounced by Clinton Poulson of Bingham. The grave was dedicated by Bishop Ernest Madsen.

He told of Mr. Madsen's splendid ancestry and said deceased had been on to do the right thing at the right time, honest, earnest, upright and courageous. He also spoke of the service the Madsen boys had rendered their country.

Bishop Anerson extended the thanks of the family to all who had taken part in the funeral, given floral tributes, or helped in any way.

The closing song by the choir was "May We Who Know" and the benediction was pronounced by Clinton Poulson of Bingham. The grave was dedicated by Bishop Ernest Madsen.

W. McAllister and daughter, Elaine, Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Byron Alder, Logan; C. W. Sorenson; Mrs. Seymour Jensen, Erastus Poulson and Mrs. Caroll Madsen, Mt. Pleasant; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Poulson, and Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Poulson, Bingham."

Wendy was born on September 20, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah to, Russell W. Owens, Jr. and Patricia T. Button. Wendy and her late ex-husband, Michael L. Romney gave birth to their first daughter, Tina Marie in September 1968. They were once again blessed with their second child Heidi Michelle, in December 1970. Wendy was a very loving, caring and involved mother. Her children always came first in her life, forming a lifetime friendship. She was blessed to be present for the birth of her three grandchildren, Justin, Jordan and Taylor. She was as dedicated to them as she was to her own children and will be greatly missed by them. Wendy was also devoted to her two sisters, two brothers, mother, father and her step-father. She loved them all very much. She was an incredibly gifted chef and was known throughout the state. Survived by daughters, Heidi (Gig) Bunnell and Tina (Michael) Braithwaite. Mother, Patricia T.
