Burke M. Chapman To Be Buried Saturday
Funeral services for Burke Maylett Chapman, 33, will be conducted in the Manti Nort Ward Saturday, December 27, 1 958 at 1 p.m. Mr. Chapman died at a Salt Lake hospital early Monday morning, with cause of death given as uremic poisoning.
He was born in Manti, September 26, 1925, a son of Thomas Lyon and LaVern Maylett Chapman. He attended school in Gunnison graduating from Gunnison High School, where he starred on the school's basketball team. He was later a star player on the Manti City baseball team.
A veteran of World War II, Burke served aboard the Destroyer USS MacDonough in the Pacific area. Since returning to Manti, he had been an active member of American Legion Post 31, holding office in the post on several occasions.
He married Nina Berrier Woodside April 10, 1953.
He was a member of the LDS Church.
He had been employed in construction work and as a heavy equipment operator. At the time of his death he was employed as a power plant operator by Manti City.
Survivors include his widow, a son and daughter, David Burke and Tina Michelle Chapman, 3 step-children, Sharl Ann, Nancy Louise and Warren Franklin Woodside, all of Manti; his mother, Manti; three brothers and four sisters, Paul H. and Malcolm S. Chapman, Manti; Thomas L. Chapman Jr., Blackfoot, Idaho, Mrs. L. C. (Doris) Miner, Ypselante, Michigan, Mrs. Ted (Mabel) Parkinson and Mrs. Basil (Mae) Beveridge, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Lloyd (Francis) Munk, Idaho Falls, Idaho.

James Mellor Braithwaite was born February 4, 1953 in Gunnison, Utah to Elliott and Carol Mellor Braithwaite. He grew up in Manti, which he loved, amongst family and many friends.
He graduated from seminary and Manti High School in 1971 where he lettered in football, basketball and tennis. He graduated from Snow College and the University of Utah School of Pharmacy in 1977. Jim worked as a pharmacist in Ogden then transferred to manage the Brickyard Harmon's Pharmacy in Salt Lake. He returned to Manti buying Elliott's Pharmacy in 1979. Twenty-two years later he closed Elliott's and went on to manage Kent's Pharmacy in Ephraim. He enjoyed working with and serving others, especially the elderly. He was kind to those in need of medicine, often helped them without compensation. Our community always knew Jim was on call, 24-7.Jim served on the State Board of Pharmacy and was a member of the Manti National Guard.
Jim married his eternal sweetheart, Kallene Keller, August 3, 1973 in the Manti Temple and together they had five children. He loved his family and working with youth. He coached baseball for many years, helped build the softball fields south of MHS and served as an assistant coach for the
1996 State Championship baseball team. He served on the South Sanpete School Board for twelve years, dedicated the Wilbur T. Braithwaite Athletic Complex, and was instrumental in bringing the beautiful facility where the Manti Templars now play football.
Active in the LDS Church, he served as a Sunday School teacher, YM President, High Councilman and 1st counselor in the Manti 6th Ward bishopric. Jim leaves a legacy of faith, love and service to his precious daughters, Dr. Amy (Grayson) Gearin, Las Vegas; Emily, Manti; Kami, Redlands, CA; and Ashlee, Manti. Jim is survived by sister, Carol Ann Willardsen; brothers: Dr. John E. (Rosie) Braithwaite and Dr. George R.
(Leigh) Braithwaite; in-laws: Ray and EmmaLou Keller; Terry (Margret) Keller, Karen (Duane) Thomas, Tom (Pam) Keller; step-father Bill Williamson; nieces, nephews, family and friends who have compassionately ministered to him and his family throughout his life. Margaret Estella Henrie Johnson Dies At Manti Home
Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Estella Henrie Johnson, 91, will be held in the Manti North Ward Saturday at 2 p.m. with Bishop Frank G. Wanlass conducting. Mrs. Johnson died at her home in Manti Monday night of causes incident to age.
She was born in Manti, December 23, 1866, a daughter of Daniel and Amanda Bradley Henrie.
She was married to Alma Johnson November 25, 1886, in the Logan LDS Temple. The had teen children, seven of whom survive her. Mr. Johnson died November 1, 1956.
Mrs. Johnson was an active member of the LDS Church, a member of the Manti North Ward. She served in the Relief Society organization there for many years.
Survivors include two sons and five daughters, Mrs. John R. (Alice) Nielson, Mrs. James (Estella) Chapman, Robert G. and Evan M., all of Manti; Mrs. R. Lionel (Kate) Mason, Plymouth, Utah; Mrs. Howard S. (Vera) Mills, Brigham City; Mrs. Ruth Peterson, Heyburn, Idaho; 36 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Friends may call at the family residence Friday evening and Saturday prior to the service.

Services Held For Margaret Johnson
Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Estella Henrie Johnson, 91, were held in the Manti North Ward Chapel Saturday at 2 p.m., with Bishop Glen Goodwin conducting. All of Mrs. Johnson's children were here to attend the services for their mother.
Mrs. Johnson died at her home in Manti Monday evening of causes incident to age. She was born in Manti, December 23, 1866, a daughter of Daniel and Amanda Bradley Henrie. She was married to Alma Johnson, November 25, 1886, in the Logan LDS Temple. They had ten children, seven of whom survive. Mr. Johnson died November 1, 1956.
Prelude and postlude music for the services was by Bertha Christensen, with other musical numbers including a vocal solo by Corliss Chapman, accompanied by Miss Reva Hatch; a vocal solo by Carol Lowry accompanied by Evelyn Bradley; a vocal duet by Thera Lou Hickman and Dorothy Larson, accompanied by Reva Hatch; a vocal trio by Lynn Nielson, John Henry Nielson and Keith Chapman, accompanied by Bertha Christensen.
Speakers for the service were Alphonso Henrie, J. Hatten Carpenter, Mable Simmons, Erroll Nielson, and Glen Goodwin.
Prayer in the home was by Osmond Olsen, with prayers in the services by Franklin Hatch and Stanford Madsen.
Burial was in the Manti City Cemetery under the direction of the Buchanan Mortuary, with the grave being dedicated by Keith Chapman."
