Elmo A. Ford

Elmo Alfred Ford, 84, died April 14, 1994 at his home in Wallsburg, Utah.

Born September 18, 1909 in Wallsburg to Alfred and Molinda Boren Ford. Married Reta Sabey February 2, 1934 in Provo, Utah. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Active member LDS Church, having served as bishop and on the High Council. Served as mayor of Wallsburg, Wasatch County Soil Conservation, responsible for power and telephone of Wallsburg. Life long resident of Wallsburg. Loved his family, especially grandchildren and was loved by all.

Survived by wife of Wallsburg; children, Nelda Muir, Heber City; Harold and Karma Ford; Howard and Diane Ford, Wallsburg; Carolyn and Paul Wilson, Midway; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; brother and sister, Reed Ford, Wallsburg; Velma Levans, Eugene, Oregon.

Preceded in death by two brothers, a sister, a son-in-law, and grandchild.

Funeral services Saturday, 11 a.m. in the Wallsburg 2nd Ward. Friends may call at Olpin Mortuary, Friday, 6-8 p.m. and at the church Saturday, one hour prior to services.

Burial, Wallsburg Cemetery."

Reta Sabey Ford

Reta Sabey Ford Wallsburg, Utah Reta Sabey Ford, age 93, passed away Tuesday evening, February 6, 2007, at her home in Wallsburg surrounded by her loving family.

Born December 23, 1913 in Wallsburg, Utah to James Edgar and Jenette "Nettie" Davis Sabey. Married Elmo A. Ford February 2, 1934, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 11, 1946.

Together Reta and Elmo ran a dairy farm and raised turkeys for many years. They enjoyed 37 years of owning the Ford Mercantile and enjoyed the association with everyone in their town. They were honored citizens of Wallsburg. She served faithfully in many ward and stake callings. She was a great cook and made many quilts, afghans, and crocheted doilies for her children and grandchildren. She always had a love for nature and outdoors and always enjoyed a good family picnic. Most of all she loved her home in Wallsburg and the visits of her children and grandchildren.

Survived by children: Nelda Muir, Carolyn (Paul) Wilson; daughter-in-law Karma Ford; son: Howard (Diane) Ford; sister: Lila Robey; niece: Faye (Kieth) Mecham; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grand-children, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by husband Elmo (April 14, 1994) and also brothers: LaVerl, Elmo, and Jack; sisters: Merle and Hazel; nephew: Allen Sabey; son: Harold; son-in-law: Bob Muir; grandsons: Chett Wilson, Travis Ford.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wallsburg 2nd Ward, 494 W. Main Canyon Road. Viewing will be held prior to the services from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Wallsburg Cemetery in care of Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home."

LeMar was an active High Priest in the LDS Church. He retired from Kaiser Steel Corp. where he worked as a coal miner operator.He is survived by his wife, Bertha, Price; children, Donald L. Denison, Sandra Westbrook, Jerry L. Passed away October 27, 2008 in Coeur d'Alene, ID; born July 13, 1926 in Sterling, UT to Edward Denison and Ina Denison (Edwards).

Married to Sam Gugliuzza August 8, 1985 in Lovelock, NV. They moved to North Idaho 12 years ago from Spokane, WA.

She was a homemaker and loved to sew, crochet and make things with her hands. A member of the Spokane Archery Club. She loved golf and her friends.

Preceded in death by her first husband Harold M. Manos in 1983, parents, and brothers and sisters: LeMar, Ruth, Wallace, Russell, Edna, Bennie and John, and second husband Sam Gugliuzza in 2008. Survivors include daughters-in-law, Sandra Whitted, Janet Hull and Lana Dever; daughters, Denee Tomi and Renee MacDougall; brother Ben Denison from Texas; and numerous grandchildrren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 1st, 2008, 9:30 AM at Spokane Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Spokane, WA. ENGLISH FUNERAL CHAPEL, COEUR D'ALENE, IDAHO is in care of the arrangements. Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Margaret Bayles Taylor, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010, at Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, UT.

She was born May 18, 1921 in Blanding, UT to Hanson Durham and Caroline Lyman Bayles.

After graduating from San Juan High School, mom went to Westminster College in Salt Lake City and later to Brigham Young University, where she met her first husband, Russell “H” Denison. They had one daughter. They were later divorced.

In 1949, she met and married Homer A. Taylor, with whom she had three daughters. They were later divorced.

As a single mother, mom worked hard to support her family. She worked for the State of Utah, Reed Hurst Trucking, and San Juan County. She and her sister Marian also co-owned and operated the Dairy Queen for over 20 years. Mom was a hard worker and a good provider. She taught her children to work and be responsible

She taught her family the gospel not only by word, but by example. Her dedication to the LDS Church was evident through the many years she taught in the Primary and Sunday School.

Mom loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and looked forward to spending time with them at every opportunity. They loved to play games, roast marsmallows and read.

Mom loved to share her hobbies and talents, including quilting, sewing and crocheting, with her family. She was not just a great grandmother, she was “Great” and that was what they all called her.

Mom is survived by her daughters: Hansene Bleak (Jim) of Thatcher, AZ; Teresa Lucas (William), Mesa, AZ; Tammie Barton (David) of Blanding UT; Lisa Bunting (Tracy, deceased) of St. George, UT; sister Marian Bayles of Blanding, UT; brother Platte D. Bayles (Marilyn) of Toquerville, UT; 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mom is preceded in death by her parents, son Tommy Johnson Taylor, son-in-law Tracy M. Bunting, sisters Carol Hurst and Mildred Bayles, and brothers Reed, Francis and Hanson.

Funeral services were held in the Blanding LDS Stake Center on Saturday, February 27, 2010 under the direction of Mosdell Mortuary, Kanab, UT."

Venice Denison Westenskow, 77, of Gunnison, died June 21, 1995 in Gunnison.

Born November 28, 1917 in Sterling, Utah to Hans Leon and Helen P. Funk Denison. She married Samuel Peter Westenskow August 10, 1938 in Centerfield, Utah. Later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He died November 4, 1981.

Survivors: Sons, Wallace Westenskow (Gay), Ray J. Westenskow (Patty), daughters, Helen McCoy (Harry), Barbara Bumgardner (Rod), Norma Terry (Ray), Afton Fechser (John), 32 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Valene Lowe (Russell). Preceded in death by husband, two granddaughters, four brothers, two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 24, 1995 at 1 p.m. in the Gunnison Stake Center. Friends may call at the Stake Center Friday evening from 7-9 p.m. and again on Saturday from 11:30 to 12:30 prior to the services.
