The opening song, "Abide With Me" was directed by Mrs. Reva Olsen Anderson, who also sang a solo and directed a trio as the closing number. The speakers were Soren Sorensen and Bishop William H. Peterson, "A Tribute To Paul", written by Zada Mellor Rudeen, was read by Mrs. Dagmar Hall. Prayers were offered by J. C. Harris and L. A. Hougaard. The grave was dedicated by Ed K. Tooth.
Paul Wegkamp was born January 20, 1901. On September 15, 1924, he married Miss Alice Tooth. At the time of his death, he was district manager for the Union Circulation Company, and with his wife spent most of the time traveling.
Mrs. Wegkamp and her small son will remain at Manti until the close of school, after which she will continue her work with the Union Circulation Company.
The following poem was written by a very dear friend of the family, Mrs. Zada Rudeen:
A Tribute To Paul
Goodbye Paul, we'll have to say
Instead of goodnight in the usual way.
You're leaving us now, your visits are o'er
But the old welcome sign still hangs on the door.
We wish you God's speed to your journey's end.
A loyal, thoughtful, genuine friend.
We have profited much from your visits thus far,
With a true understanding of the friend you are.
You have patience, generosity and kindness too,
Which reflects personality in the things you do.
We'll never forget the six months just past ---
We're hoping these memories will always last.
We'll treasure each hour one by one
To the end of the journey you've just begun.
We'll be thinking to of a regular guy
So long Paul, and Goodbye.
-- Z. M. R."
