Mrs. John Edwards Leaves Large Family
The sudden passing last Saturday of Mrs. John Edwards, age 41, who died before help could be summoned was a shock to her large family and the people of Sterling. She had been working in the garden and complaining of being tired, she went into the house to lie down. She sent one of the children to call in one of the neighbors, but her spirit had passed away before the neighbors could come.
She is survived by her husband, seven children, Mrs. Blain Thompson of Gunnison, and Mrs. Niel Peterson of Manti and Agnes, Lucy, Loa, Morris and Jack, her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Denison, two sisters and seven brothers.
Services were held over the remains Tuesday, with Bishop Ludvigson presiding. The speakers were Matts Anderson, Hyrum Christensen, Samuel Kilpack, George Bradley and Bishop Ludvigon. Music was furnised by the choir.
A large attendance was present to pay their respects to the bereaved family and many beautiful floral offerings were made."

OBIT: The Manti Messenger, 17 SEP 1964
Devoted Mother Laid To Rest
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 12, 1964 at 2:30 p.m. for Hannah Malinda Denison Peterson Jensen, 78, who died Thursday at 4:20 a.m. at the home of a daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Evan (Mildred) Johnson of Manti.
"Aunt Linn," as she was known was born April 3, 1886 at Manti, a daughter of Hans and Mary Agnes Braithwaite Denison. She married Martin Peterson Jr., September 24, 1904 in the Manti LDS Temple. He died December 10, 1930, leaving "Aunt Linn" a widow to rear seven children. They are sons, Loren Martin, Doyle Myrland, Afton B. and Eudale Peterson, all of Ogden; girls, Mrs. Sheldon (Gladys) Larsen, Ephriam; Mrs. Evan Olsen (Delosta), Mt. Because of the strong desire to succeed, she possessed will power and overcame discouragement. The gift of "know how" came easy to her. She was very active in Relief Society, Singing Mothers, Primary, Daughter of Utah Pioneers, as well as ward clerk for several years.
The services were conducted by Bishop Donald Olsen. Prayer at the mortuary was offered by a grandson-in-law, Eldon Mortensen. Eva Johnson, a son-in-law, gave the opening prayer, followed by a musical number, "Sometime We'll Understand," Singing Mothers accompanied by Erma Young. Rulon Mortensen was the first speaker, followed by a vocal duet, "Beyond The Sunset," sung by a nephew and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Lucien Peterson, accompanied by Erma Young.
