Born July 16, 1917, in Salt Lake City, the eldest son of Kenneth Willey and Margaret (Margie) Giles Anderson. Married his sweetheart, Ruth Braithwaite[0], April 7, 1942. They became eternal companions in the Mesa LDS Temple, March 11, 1947. A Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy for ten years (through World War II); he retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 25 years. Bob was a charter member of the Canyon Rim Chapter of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers. He served his Father in Heaven faithfully his entire life, including counselor to three Bishops, and Ward Clerk for 17 years. Bob loved and lived life to the fullest with his family.Survived by his wife; three sons, Robert, Jr. (JoEllen), Brian (Jan) and Richard (Deb); three daughters, Cheryl (Jim) Wilhelm, Donna (Chris) Butler and Anita (Steve) Hansen; 31 grandchildren; mother, Margie, 93; brother, Billy (Ruth); sister, Mary (Keith) Richardson. Eldora was and continues to be an extraordinary light to those in this ordinary world. Her dedication to the Lord, her family and her friends was unmatched. She stretched her heart easily to love and serve all around her. Our tears are of sorrow because we will miss her, of gratitude because we are blessed to have known her, and of joy because we know we will be with her again. Born October 21, 1912 in Santaquin, Utah. She married Victor Braith-waite and later divorced. She married her eternal sweetheart (Bob) September 8, 1944. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple November 9, 1963. Eldora enjoyed singing with many church choirs, helping with flowers at funerals, preparing and serving food at banquets and serving as a visiting teacher more than 60 years. She was always serving her family and recalled fondly that she crocheted a bedspread for each of her three children. She was always full of life and especially loved to dance, play softball, and go fishing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Childs; her parents, Rolla and Alice (Carter) York; her three brothers, Marvin, Floyd, and Rolla York, and her sister, Ada Olson. She is survived by three children, Gary V. Born October 21, 1912 in Santaquin, Utah. She married Victor Braith-waite and later divorced. She married her eternal sweetheart (Bob) September 8, 1944. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple November 9, 1963. Eldora enjoyed singing with many church choirs, helping with flowers at funerals, preparing and serving food at banquets and serving as a visiting teacher more than 60 years. She was always serving her family and recalled fondly that she crocheted a bedspread for each of her three children. She was always full of life and especially loved to dance, play softball, and go fishing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Childs; her parents, Rolla and Alice (Carter) York; her three brothers, Marvin, Floyd, and Rolla York, and her sister, Ada Olson. She is survived by three children, Gary V. (Marcia) Braithwaite[0] of Orem, Marlene (Steve) Argyle of Bountiful, Lynda (David) Broadbent of Santaquin, 13 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 19, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the old Santaquin Stake Center, 90 S. 200 E. Friends and family may call at the Holladay-Brown Funeral Home, 66 S. 300 E. Santaquin, Wednesday 6-8 p.m. or Thursday at the church one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Santaquin City Cemetery. The family expresses appreciation to Barton Creek Assisted Living, their staff and others who helped Eldora the last two years."
