Lillian Vigos

Lillian Vigos passed on after a short illness on September 10, 2006. She was living with her son Kent Vigos and his wife Debbie Moon in Santa Clara, Utah. She was 84 years old.

Lillian was brought up in Salina, Utah by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Heber C. Williams. She developed her beautiful contralto voice and won talent contests throughout Southern Utah in her teens and was known as the Songbird of Salina. She went on to win state talent contests, and moved to Salt Lake City where she performed at the Coconut Grove, and the Manhattan Club. In the '50s she had her own television show, "A Song and a Story" with Lillian Vigos.

She opted for raising a family rather than a career in Hollywood, so she married Jim Vigos and they raised 4 children: David, Sheila, Kent and Randy. She leaves a legacy of beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her beautiful voice, appearance, countenance, and sweet loving spirit delighted all who were privileged to know her.

Thank you mother, for blessing us.

Lillian's funeral services for immediate family members were conducted September 12th and 13th. Her body was laid to rest in the Santa Clara Cemetery in view of the Snow Canyon and the Red Cliffs that she loved. Her husband, Jim Vigos proceeded her November 27th, 2000.

To celebrate Lillian's life, Kent Vigos and Debbie Moon are dedicating Thanksgiving (November 23rd, 24th & 25th) to her with an open house at their home. Please call Kent for address at             435-668-9388      ."

OBIT: The Deseret News, Friday, 19 JUN 1998

Laury O. Dixon

Laury Omen Dixon age 39, our mighty hunter and everyone's favorite redneck, lost his best and last fight with cancer on June 18, 1998 at home with his family around him.

"LOOK FOR ME IN THE MOUNTAINS AMONG THE DEER AND THE ELK."

Born December 27, 1958 in Tooele, Utah to Golden W. and Donna S. Dixon. Both parents preceded him in death. We hope Mom is playing "Alley Cat" as he dances his way into Heaven.

Laury was a lifelong resident of Tooele, graduate of Tooele High School and faithful member of the L.D.S. Church. One of his greatest joys was his membership in the Tooele County Search and Rescue, where he served for over 10 years. He was never afraid to show his love for others. He worked at L-3 Communications where he had many friends. He loved sports of all kinds and was a familiar face at many school and area games. He married Mary Mills on April 19, 1986, later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple. Laury had a great love for his children Tyson and Brittany. They were always at his side along with Mary.

He was the "much loved little brother" of Carolyn Dansie (Loren), of Midvale; and the "world's best support team" of brothers Ron (Gay); Ed (Kathy); both of West Valley City; Bill (Carla); Raymond (Tana); both of Tooele. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins who loved him dearly; and Mary's wonderfully supportive parents, Rex and Susan Mills, West Valley City, and their family.

A special thanks to the community and those who have generously given support to Laury and his family in their times of need.

Viewing Sunday June 21st at Tate Mortuary in Tooele from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service Monday June 22nd at 11 a.m. at the Tooele Stake Center 253 So. 2nd East Tooele. Viewing one hour prior to the funeral service at the Church. Interment to follow at Tooele City Cemetery."
