Manti Messenger Newspaper, pg. 1, NOV 1919 - Miss Ruby Braithwaite Injured
Miss Ruby Braithwaite received a most painful injury Tuesday when she got her right hand caught in the press which resulted in the fleshy part of the hand being smashed and cut. Medical attention was quickly sought and the injured hand dressed. It was necessary to take several stitches to sew the torn flesh together. Fortunately no bones were broken nor were any of the cords severed. The injury was a most painful one and will incapacitate Miss Braithwaite for some time, but it is hoped and thot that it is not a permanent injury. Miss Braithwaite is an experienced and competent operator of the press having had several months experience. How the accident occurred is all a mystery. It occured so quickly and the shock is so great that she is unable to remember the exact circumstances. At this writing she is much improved and we are hopeful that she will soon be at work again.

OBIT: The Daily Herald, Sunday, 30 MAY 2010

Rose Cheever (Rosie) Hillman, 94, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2010 at Heritage Care Center in American Fork surrounded by her three children. She resided at 110 North 100 West in Pleasant Grove, Utah at the time of her death.

She was born December 26, 1915 in Provo to George Albert and Sarah (Nell) Braithwaite Cheever.

She was raised in Payson and as a young lady was Payson's Onion Days Queen. After graduating from high school, she attended BYU before meeting her sweetheart, Guy Smith Hillman. They married on December 4, 1936 in the Salt Lake Temple and were together for fifty-two years prior to his death in 1988.

After her marriage, Rose lived in Pleasant Grove and was content to be a wife, mother, and homemaker. She was an excellent cook, seamstress, needleworker, and quilter and was active in her church and community. She was truly a life-long learner. She loved "road trip" traveling, collecting, reading, flowers, old movies, and doing the daily crosswords, but from her twenties to her nineties her passion was genealogy and clearing countless temple names for her and Guy's progenitors. By her example, she taught her children and grandchildren how to be cheerful, generous, forgiving, compassionate, and particularly patient in enduring to the end. She will be greatly missed by her family.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband; her young daughter, Dianne; two brothers: George A. and Byron B. Cheever. She is survived by her children: Jeannie Hillman; Vance Guy (Norma Jean) Hillman, Nancy (Carl) Roberts; two beloved grandchildren: Cory Guy (Kathy) Hillman and Carisa (Kyle) Hoopes; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Timpanogos Stake Center, 800 North 100 West, Pleasant Grove, where friends may attend a viewing one hour prior to the services.

Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery."
