I was born in Fillmore, Utah, a little town of about one thousand souls, one hundred fifty miles south of Salt Lake City on May 3, 1903. It was a sleepy little town deriving its livelihood from the soil. My grandfather, Dorus Burzee Warner, was the first settler to set foot in the (to be) town of Fillmore. He was a boy of thirteen and came ahead of the main group driving a herd of cattle. He, with his father Orange Warner, helped build the wall around the settlement for protection against the Indians who were quite hostile at that time.
Grandmother: Cordelia Amanda Webb (1841-1908)
Grandmother was a trained midwife so she naturally ushered in nearly all of her grandchildren. So as the time drew near for my arrival, my mother went from our home in Bingham Canyon to Fillmore. My father was working in the mines at that time. After my birth she returned to Bingham, Utah. I am the third child born to this family.

December 1928 I waited for Angie to return home from a Christmas trip to California. She was staying with Cecil and Fern in Fillmore now. As Angie came out to the car to unload it from the trip, I took her in my arms and kissed her. She was really embarrassed, especially in view of her family. During their life, they lived in Panguitch, Moroni, Garrison, Ogden, Delta and Orem, UT. Angie was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church serving in many leadership positions. She loved genealogy and worked long and hard to collect family histories and plan family reunions. Her home was open to everyone and she enjoyed the reputation of being a gracious hostess and wonderful cook. She was the ultimate homemaker, always caring for friends and family. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, painting, crafts and singing with her beloved husband. She left a legacy of a strong work ethic and a love of the gospel.
Her husband and six siblings pre-ceded her in death. She is survived by her three children, Naoma (Garth) Braithwaite[0], Orem, Lloyd C. (Luana) Warner, St. George, UT, Howard E. (Helen) Warner, Salt Lake City, UT; 26 grandchildren, 99 great-grand-children, and 14 great great-grand-children.
Services will be 11 a.m. Mon. June 16, 2003, Cascade Chapel, Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 S. State St, Orem. A viewing will be Sun. 7-8:30 p.m. and Mon. one hour prior to the funeral.

Friends may call at the Olsen Funeral Home, 205 S. 1st E., Tuesday from 7-9pm and Wednesday prior to services.
Mr. Braithwaite was born May 4, 1925, in Arco, Idaho, a son of Francis H. and Emeline Jenson Braithwaite.
He was married to Naoma Warner on August 3, 1949, in the Logan LDS Temple.
He graduated from Utah State University in electrical engineering.
He was employed at Hill Air Force Base and was a veteran of World War II.
Active in the LDS Church, he had served in bishoprics and was a high councilman. He filled a LDS mission.
Surviving are his widow of Brigham City, the following sons and daughters: David G. Braithwaite, Brian Braithwaite, Steven Braithwaite, Alan Braithwaite, Diane Braithwaite, Susan Braithwaite, Sherie Braithwaite, all of Brigham City; Mrs. Vaughn (Kathy) Call, Omaha, Neb; Mrs. John (Christine) Richards, Milpitas, California; four grandchildren.

William Francis Braithwaite, one of Butte County’s oldest citizens, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. D.B. Sedgwick, of Arco, Idaho, on December 27, 1959, at the age of 91. He had been ill four weeks.
He was born October 1, 1868, at Manti, Utah, the oldest son of William and Elizabeth Francis Braithwaite. He was the oldest of 21 children. He was married to Mary C. Nelson July 21, 1892 in the Manti LDS Temple. To this union was born 8 children, three of whom preceded him in death. Mrs. Braithwaite passed away June 12, 1945. They had been married 53 years at the time.
Mr. Braithwaite is survived by five sisters and two brothers and the following sons and daughters: Francis, Hillard, Mrs. D.B. Sedgwick (Jennie) and Mrs. Elda Stearns. All of Arco, and Eldred, of Moore, Idaho. He also raised the following grandchildren: Mrs. Elaine Peterson Mann, Bountiful, Utah, Marvin Stearns, and Mrs. Carma Stearns Barnes of Boise, Idaho. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren, 39 Great grandchildren and hosts of nieces and nephews.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, being active in church duties all his life. He served as counselor with two different Bishops of the Arco wards: John A. Johnson and L.W. Boyer, Sr. He was a ordained High Priest of the Lost River Stake at the time of death. He was also active in civic affairs, having been County Commissioner of Butte County and a member of the Arco School board for several terms.
Mr. Braithwaite was associated in his younger life with his father in the nursery business and also in the bee business at Manti, Utah. He ad his father took the first bees into Ferron, Utah. After moving to Arco in May 1914, he continued in the bee business and also in farming and stock raising. He was one of several who had farms in the Arco Pass. He sold his business and farm in 1944, when he and Mrs. Braithwaite move to a home in Arco. It was here that his wife passed away just a year later. Since then his daughter, Mrs. Elda Stearns has been living with him.
Two of his children, Mrs. Jennie Sedgwick and Eldred Braithwaite filled missions for the LDS Church, as did 6 of his grandchildren. Jack and Garth Braithwaite, Vonda Sedgwick, Marvin Stearns, David Braithwaite, and Jon Braithwaite. The last three are still in the mission fields.
Mr. Braithwaite was very talented in song, jokes and the like. “Uncle Will” as he was fondly called by all who knew him, enjoyed being asked to participate on programs and was often called to take part at special parties and events. Hosts of friends will sorely miss him.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 30, at I p.m. in the Arco LDS Ward Chapel. Bishop C. Brooks Buxton will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Jack Herbert Braithwaite entered into eternal rest October 24, 2012, in Vancouver, Washington. Jack was born April 17, 1922, in Arco, Idaho. He was the first child of Francis and Emeline Jenson Braithwaite. He enjoyed growing up in Arco. There was plenty of hunting and fishing. He spent a lot of time on his grandfather’s homestead. Jack served in the Navy during World War II. He spent all of the war working with electrical engines on aircraft carriers. After the war he served a mission for his church in South Africa. When he returned from South Africa, he continued his education at Iowa State. On one of his visits home, he was introduced to a cute blonde with blue eyes. She swept him off his feet and after a long courtship of letter writing, they decided to marry. He was sealed to Mildred Reva Thompson, on September 2, 1955, in the Salt Lake Temple. Along with Reva, came Dennis and Linda. The new family made their way to Vancouver, Washington, and they stayed there for over 50 years.
Jack was employed by the Army Corps of Engineers for more than 35 years. He was responsible for working on the dams and fish ladder’s on the Columbia River, in Washington & Oregon. He enjoyed scuba diving to, “Check things out.”
He and Reva were never able to have children on their own; so they were foster parents to 39 children. Jack never knew a baby who didn’t like him. Jack and Reva felt education was very important, and they saw to it that both of their children attended Brigham Young University. Dennis and Linda both majored in music. The parents were very proud of their children. After a special concert for their mother in 1999, Reva and Jack both said, “We will keep them around.”
Jack was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in many organizations. He served as the Vancouver Stake Patriarch for many years. His last blessing was given to his granddaughter, Heidi. Jack and Reva served as temple workers for many years at the Portland Temple.
Jack’s favorite pastime was to be a people watcher. He had many wonderful friends. He never missed a chance to strike up a conversation with someone new. Jack and Reva spent many wonderful weekends fishing for salmon on the ocean. They loved to camp. They always went berry picking. Jack grew lovely productive gardens. He especially loved his raspberry bushes. He and Reva never wasted a thing. They ate what they grew, canned the excess for winter and shared with their neighbors and friends.
Jack had a great reunion with his parents Francis and Emeline, His wife Reva and his kids Linda and Dennis, his granddaughter Heidi and his great-granddaughter Alyssa. His siblings Melva Dean English, Garth, Cleo Braegger and Clevon Haskell. He is survived by his sister Valois Hartley, daughter-in-law, Jeanene, his grandchildren, Brent, LaRee (Mason) and great-grandchildren, Miel, Zoe and Bodhan Mason, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. They all love him dearly.
A funeral service will be held Thursday November 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Vancouver Stake Center Address is 10509 SE. 5th Street Vancouver, WA. 98664. A second funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary Chapel, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, UT where a visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Linda Kay Braithwaite traveled home to her Father in Heaven on December 18, 2010. In spite of a long struggle with cancer, Linda truly fulfilled her goal of living every day to its fullest. She has devoted her life to the service of others.
Linda had a great passion for learning and experiencing all that life had to offer. She tuned pianos, taught blind people how to use power tools, traveled the world, even climbing the Great Wall of China alone with her white cane. She worked for the Division of Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired, the Library of Congress Braille Development Section, and the Multi-State University Consortium for Vision.
After retiring, she opened her own business, BZ Training and Consulting, continuing her service to the blind. Linda filled her life with volunteer activities, such a serving as an officer for Utah Council of the Blind, Gina Bachauer International Piano Foundation, and UCB Credit Union; and mentoring young blind people and musicians.
Linda saw beauty in everything around her as exemplified in her love of music and the arts. She contributed to the musical culture of Utah. She was a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for 20 years and, more recently, the Utah Symphony Chorus. She shared her voice through recitals in the Temple Square Concert Series and at other venues throughout Utah and the United States. Linda was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served for two years in the Kentucky-Tennessee Mission, as a volunteer at the Salt Lake Temple, and in various capacities in her ward, including ward organist and gospel doctrine teacher.
During her life, she received many prestigious awards, including the Ruth Craig Meritorious Award for Lifetime Contributions to the Blind and Visually Impaired; the Albert Talmage Award, the Utah Council of the Blind's highest award for a lifetime of service to the blind; the "Best of the Best", and other awards from the Utah State Office of Rehabilitation.
Linda was born October 27, 1947 in Los Angeles, California, to Reva and Frank Parenzin, and later adopted by Jack H. Braithwaite. She is survived by her father, Jack H. Braithwaite; her brother, Dennis A. Braithwaite (Jeanene); nephew, Brent J. Braithwaite; niece, LaRee Mason (Dallin); grandnieces, Miel and Zoe; and grandnephew, Bodhan Mason.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Reva Braithwaite; niece, Heidi Braithwaite; and grandniece, Alyssa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 23, at the Salt Lake Stake Center, 142 West 200 North, Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah and one hour prior to services at the Salt Lake Stake Center. Melva Dean Braithwaite English, 83, died on April 25, 2007 in Spanish Fork, UT. She was born on February 17, 1924 in Arco, ID to Francis Herbert Braithwaite and Emeline Jenson Braithwaite. She grew up in Arco, Idaho and lived in Idaho, California and ending with her last 20 years in Utah. She married Robert William English on January 30, 1945. She enjoyed gardening, genealogy, family, needlework, sewing and puzzles. They had 11 children. She served two missions with her husband. All she ever wanted to be was a mom and she was a good one. She and her husband have 11 children, 45 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Survived by siblings: Jack, Clevon, Cleo and Valois. Children; Robert, William, Donald, Richard, Joyce, David, Steven, Barbara and Marlene. Preceded in death by parents, brother Garth, children; John Thomas and Betty Ann.

A 5-year-old Salt Lake City girl who fell from a tree Thursday died at 12:10am Saturday in a local hospital without regaining consciousness.
The victim was Betty Ann English, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. English, 234 S. 13th West.
She suffered a skull fracture about 6pm Thursday when she fell from a tree at 1209 W. 2nd South. She had been climbing the tree with three brothers at the time of the accident. She was rushed to the LDS Hospital by police ambulance.
Betty Ann was born 21 Dec 1950, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She is survived by her parents; five brothers, Robert, John Thomas, William LeRoy, Donald Albert and Richard Ray; one sister, Joyce, and two grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Braithwaite of Arco, Idaho." Dick was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married Cleo Braithwaite on October 1, 1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He had served as the Elder's Quorum President, Stake Sunday School President, Stake Missionary and Employment Center Missionary.
Dick enjoyed reading, baseball and basketball. He worked at farming, truck driving, railroading, and at Hill Field and Thiokol. He was a business owner and member of Operating Engineers Local #3.
Dick is survived by his wife, Cleo; children, Cleanne (Kenneth) Barker, Willard, Rich (Debby) Braegger, Jr., Willard, and Rodney Allan (Debbie) Braegger, Lehi; 12 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Wayne, and sisters Lavon and Joyce.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Willard 4th Ward Chapel, 81 North 100 West, Willard, Utah.

She graduated from Arco High School. She spent the last 63 years in Willard.
She worked at Hill Field as an air craft mechanic, where she met her husband. Cleo married Richard Eugene Braegger, Sr. on October 1, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Cleo loved singing with her husband, in her ward choir and with the Singing Mothers. She served in various callings including: teaching Primary, in the Mutual Presidency, Relief Society Chorister, and was a visiting teacher Supervisor.
Cleo and Richard served two full time missions at the Brigham City LDS Employment Center. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, service to neighbors and friends and square dancing.
Surviving are her children: Cleanne (Ken) Barker, Willard; Rich (Debby) Braegger, Willard; Rod (Debbie) Braegger, Lehi; 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings: Jack H. Braithwaite , Vancouver, WA; Valois (Leonard) Hartley, Boise, ID; sister-in-law Naoma Braithwaite, Orem, UT; and brother-in-law Robert English, Spanish Fork, UT.
Preceded in death by her husband Richard, parents, brother, Garth Braithwaite, two sisters: Melva Dean English and Mary Clevon (Ray) Haskell.

Alvin was born on Oct. 10, 1920 in Sublette, ID, to Raymond Levi and Sarah Horn Haskell. He was the fourth child of nine children. In 1929 Alvin moved with his parents and siblings to farm in Rockland.
After graduating from Rockland High School in 1940, Alvin attended Vo-Tech School in Weiser, ID, and in 1942 accepted a position as a Machinist Trainee at the Boeing Aircraft Company in Seattle, WA. In 1943, he joined the U.S. Navy and completed Diesel Training at the Naval Training School at Iowa State College in Ames, IA. Alvin served as a Motor Machinist Mate second-class in World War II until an injury in the Azores Islands lead to an honorable medical discharge.
Following a long recovery, he returned home to farm with his father in Rockland. Soon thereafter, he met Mary Clevon Braithwaite, of Arco, ID, who came to Rockland to teach school. They were later married in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on July 27, 1948. Together they raised seven children and spent the rest of their lives farming in Rockland. Alvin’s hobbies included snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, and piloting his private airplanes, making numerous deep sea fishing trips to Mexico.
Alvin enjoyed sharing his abilities as a mechanic and welder with neighboring farmers and friends.
He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in numerous ward and stake callings.
Alvin was preceded in death by his loving wife, Clevon, his parents, a sister Lucille Porath and a brother Daniel. He is survived by seven children: Darrel (Janaan) Haskell of Pocatello; Ronald (Lynn) Haskell of Highland, UT; Gordon (Debra) Haskell of American Falls; Teresa (Peter) Dietz of Sandy, UT; Shirley Edwards of Pocatello; Byron (Janell) Haskell of Spanish Fork, UT; and Annette (Robert) Ramos of Reno, NV; three sisters and three brothers, Erma Moss of American Falls; Ada Wangsgard of Huntsville, UT; Ivan Haskell of American Falls; George (Verla Rae) Haskell of American Falls; Lola Mae (Theron) Stokes of Pocatello; and Carl (Ilene) Haskell of American Falls; 32 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Rockland Ward Chapel, Rockland, with Bishop Evan Kress conducting. Visitation hours were from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 7, at the Davis-Rose Mortuary, 170 Idaho St., American Falls, and from 10 to 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday morning at the church, prior to services. Clevon was born on April 22, 1928, in Arco, ID, to Francis and Emeline Braithwaite. She was the fifth child of six children. She attended college in San Diego, CA, and Albion, ID, graduating in the field of education. She began her teaching career in Rockland where she met the love of her life Raymond Alvin Haskell, a farmer. They were married in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on July 27, 1948. They made their home in Rockland and were blessed with seven children. Later in life, Clevon returned to Idaho State University receiving her Bachelors Degree in Education in August of 1986.
Clevon was loved and admired by everyone who knew her; she was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she faithfully served in numerous ward and stake positions. She served the community as a schoolteacher and EMT. Clevon’s hobbies included reading, gardening, swimming, genealogy, crocheting, and being a grandmother.
Clevon was preceded in death by her parents, a brother (Garth Braithwaite), and a sister (Melva Dean English). She is survived by her husband Alvin; seven children, Darrel (Janaan) Haskell of Pocatello; Ronald (Lynn) Haskell of Highland, UT; Gordon (Debra) Haskell of American Falls; Teresa (Peter) Dietz of Sandy, UT; Shirley Edwards of Pocatello; Byron (Janell) Haskell of Spanish Fork, UT; and Annette (Robert) Ramos of Reno, NV; one brother, Jack Braithwaite of Vancouver, WA; two sisters, Cleo (Richard) Braegger of Willard, UT and Valois (Leonard) Hartley of Boise, ID; 32 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was a devoted wife and mother and will be missed very much by everyone who loved her and whose lives she touched with her warm heart and beautiful smile.
The funeral service was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Rockland Ward Chapel with Bishop Alan Permann conducting. The visitation was from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 11, at Davis-Rose Mortuary, 170 Idaho St. American Falls, and from 9:45 to 10:45 Tuesday at the church prior to services.
