Brough Family Reunions, 1891 to 1968

In December 1890, Samuel Richard Brough (shown below) returned to Utah after serving a very successful four-year LDS Mission to the British Isles. After returning to Utah, Samuel encouraged his Brough relatives living in the western United States to begin holding Brough Family Reunions. These reunions were occasionally held between 1891 and 1934.

In 1934, the descendants of Thomas Brough (who included Samuel Richard Brough) and Samuel Brough began holding Brough Family Reunions. These reunions were held, first annually and then less frequently, from 1934 through the mid-1960's. For example, the following newspaper announcement (below) mentions the "sixth annual reunion of the Brough family" that was held in Morgan, Utah, on August 17, 1940.

In 1969, the Samuel Richard Brough Family Organization (SRBFO) was offically organized, and began holding Brough Family Reunions in Utah, which continued from 1969 to 1982. In 1983, the SRBFO was fully merged and incorporated into the Richard Brough Family Organization (RBFO), which now holds periodic International Brough Reunions.
