RBFO Goals for 2007-2010
Main Objective and Major Activities of the RBFO
The main objective of the RBFO is
to "educate family members and others of the history and family traditions
within the genealogical lines of the membership." At the present
time the RBFO is engaged in four major activities that support
this objective:
1) It is conducting genealogical research
on the early (pre-1700) Broughs of Staffordshire, England, and closely
related families and genealogical lineages.
2) It is trying to find and maintain contact
with all descendants and relatives of Richard Brough and Mary Horleston
who presently live in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and
elsewhere around the world. 3) It
is checking the accuracy of all pedigree and family group sheets/records
on the ancestors and descendants of Richard Brough and Mary Horleston
submitted to and reproduced by the Family History Library in Salt Lake
City, Utah.
4) It is extracting and submitting the births,
christenings, marriages and deaths of all Broughs known to have resided
in or near the county of Staffordshire, England, for eventual entry into
the computerized database of the International Genealogical Index (IGI)
of the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Specific Goals of the RBFO during 2007 through 2010
2007: Continue genealogical and historical research on Brough
ancestry and descendants. Plan for and hold a 150th
Birthday Reunion for the Descendants of Samuel Richard Brough
in August 2007 in Bountiful, Utah, USA.
2008: Plan for and hold an International
Brough Reunion in August 2008 in Meerbrook, Staffordshire, England,
United Kingdom.
2009: Plan for and hold an International Brough Reunion in December 2009 in New South Wales, Australia.
2010: Plan for and hold an International
Brough Reunion, in August 2010 in Kaysville, Utah USA.
Also, produce a documentary-type movie on the Brough Family--covering
a 1,000 years of history.
