Ancestors and Descendants of William Brough of Birmingham

Notes

1. William Brough

Research Note: The IGI and LDS Ordinance Index (via the LDS Extraction Program) lists a William Brough, christened on 22 April 1687, in Yoxall, Staffordshire, England--which is about nine miles southwest of Tutbury, Staffordshire. This William Brough (chr. 1687) was the son of Gervas and Mary Brough. Also, the IGI and LDS Ordinance Index (via the LDS Extraction Program) lists a William Brough, christened on 21 January 1693, in Kingsley, Staffordshire, England--which is about 21 miles northwest of Tutbury. This William Brough (chr. 1693) was the son of Jobe and Dorrothy Brough. Further research needs to be conducted into the possibility that one of these William Brough's may be the same William Brough who was the father of a William Brough who was christened in 1727 in Tutbury. In addition, the Brough Wills and Probates of the Warwickshire and Staffordshire areas are being examined to see if they offer any insight into the lineage of the Broughs of Birmingham, Warwickshire. (Caution: Previous research has shown that the following William Brough's are NOT the father of William Brough who was christened in 1727 in Tutbury: William Brough of Trentham who was christened on 10 March 1696 [see RBFO Rin # 6849]; William Brough of Trentham who was christened on 5 Apr 1696 in Trentham [see RBFO Rin # 6728]; and William Brough of Trentham who was christened on 19 Nov 1699 in Trentham [see RBFO Rin # 6807].)
